Since childhood, she's been a force to be reckoned with and a clear combination of her parents strongest traits. Determined and headstrong, she has always marched to the beat of her own drum and done things her way, just like her mom. What also comes along with that is her persuasive and calculating demeanor- the brunette is a smooth talker and always knows exactly what to say or which angle to pull in order to bend those around her to her will. On the other hand, she inherited her father's unpredictability and erratic nature, which causes her to be aggressive and fiery even when she doesn't intend to be. As well, she can be quite dramatic, and overreact to the smallest missteps. However, once you get past her abrasive and rougher exterior, Delaney is authentic and real; a genuine girl with only the best of intentions (even though sometimes her choices may seem conniving). To know the young Helmsley is also to know her interests. She’s discovered a compulsive desire for excitement and adventure and drifted towards adrenaline in recent years. The two started off as childhood friends, their families having grown up alongside each other in Beverly Hills. Bailee was a young business upstart, having shown promise early on of taking over the family business, Helmsley Enterprises, and AJ was a gear-head through and through. They often didn't see eye to eye, but nonetheless the two had a close bond that evolved over time. It wasn't until they got to high school and the boy was dumped by his former flame that he decided to use their dynamic to his advantage. In what can be described as a ruse, AJ and Bailee's friendship became the vehicle to make his ex jealous- they spent every free moment together, things [I]happened[/I] behind closed doors, and from an outside perspective it became clear that there was something going on that was more than friendship. What AJ didn't expect, however, was for Bailee to actually fall for him- in her naivety, all she saw was the good and not the cruel intentions- and when the girl truly figured out what was going on and pieced everything together, it all exploded.

After the fight, AJ hit rock bottom during their senior year. He thought he had lost Bailee, and his friends viewed him differently after hurting someone that truly cared about him. His pain fueled his actions and his loved ones had to watch as he turned to drugs like cocaine and made rash and stupid decisions that nearly killed him. Bailee couldn't bear to witness his self-destructive behavior even after he hurt her and tried to step in, but his friends explained that unfortunately she was part of the problem and in order to do what was best for him, she needed to give him space so he could come to the conclusions himself. And so, the two graduated BHHS and went their separate ways. 

During their first year in college, the two didn't speak. AJ was getting clean and trying to find himself and meanwhile Bailee was balancing classes and stepping into her father's role at Helmsley Enterprises. The girl began to realize the void that was left by him not being there and she threw herself into her work in order to cope, which made her stronger and more successful. After nearly a year and a half of not talking, AJ reached out to Bailee, asking her to meet him, and she agreed. Finally ready to let go of the past and shedding most of his demons, the boy took her to a cliff where he used to take his ex and threw all of physical reminders of that past relationship off of it, signifying that he had moved on and was ready to fully commit to Bailee. They reconciled, and began to officially see each other. Things moved pretty quickly from there, as they were engaged within a year and within two years of that day married with a baby on the way.

Delaney was their second child, the first being their son Cole. With her brother quickly realized as the heir apparent to the family business, the brunette was left to forge her own path, which she took and ran with. The sky was the limit, and she knew that she could do whatever she set her mind to, even though she wasn't entirely sure yet what that'd be. As a child she enjoyed causing mischief and messes for the house staff to clean up after, but all in all, she was a good kid. She loved spending time with her father when her mother was working late hours- most of those nights spent watching movies and TV of course- and was always surrounded by her siblings and extended family (the Helmsley dynasty, as she referred to it as, was massive). 

AJ and Bailee decided to send Delaney to Marble Heights starting her Freshman year for a number of reasons, but the main one was to give her the best education possible in order to set her up for future success. One of Bailee's biggest regrets was not living in the moment and enjoying her High School experience, so she wanted to ensure that her daughter had the opportunity to do so in a boarding school environment. It also helps that it's close enough to home that she can hop on the Helmsley jet and be home within an hour if necessary.

With an age difference of just less than a year making them Irish twins (what can they say, their parents got busy quickly after getting married...), Cole and Delaney have always been incredibly close siblings. The two spent ample time together as children when their mom was at work and their dad was left to his own devices before beginning to work as well, they caused mischief and mayhem wherever they went. Sharing many similarities but also different in lots of ways, Cole gets on Delaney's nerves and she can be his biggest annoyance at times. It also doesn't help that due to Lainey's abrasive and aggressive nature they argue a lot. However, this behavior isn't tolerated when it's origins are from someone other than themselves, and the two are wildly protective of each other. You come for one sibling, expect to get raging wrath from the other. From a young age they told each other everything, but in recent years Delaney has kept more things from Cole than she'd like to admit as she doesn't want to disappoint him.[/cell]

More like sisters than cousins, Delaney and Addie have always been attached at the hip. They're each other's built in best friend- the one you never asked for but have always needed- and especially since Addie was an only child, Del treated her more like her twin than anything as they were basically the same age and in the same grade growing up. Both bold and unapologetically themselves, the two girls are more similar than different and Delaney can always count on Addie to both hype her up as well as knock some sense into her. Even though they hang out in different circles at school, you'll often see them by each other's side at the end of the day catching up or grabbing meals together.[/cell]

When Avery arrived at Marble Heights at the beginning of Sophomore year, Delaney was one of the first people she met. By chance, they were sat next to each other in English class and the two became fast friends. Once the brunette got to know her better, she loved how carefree and wild the redhead was, but also appreciated how much kindness and compassion she possessed even though it's not apparent to all who know her. Whether they are laughing in the back of the classroom, hanging out in the common room at the end of a long day contemplating life, or even galavanting around San Fran on the weekend, Avery and Delaney are forces of nature in different ways and complement each other. Although Avery warned her that he was no good and told her not to get involved, she didn't heed her friend's warning and the two hooked up. Over the summer, Link and Del texted loosely, getting to know each other just past the superficial level but nothing very serious. Now that they're back at school together, who knows what will happen...
