Scrapped:
True Name: Frederick II Honestaufen Title(s): Holy Roman Emperor, King of Germany, King of Sicily, King of Jerusalem. Class: Caster Gender: Male Birth and Death Dates: 1194 - 1250 Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Motivation for the Holy Grail: To reincarnate into this world, to seek power, lore, and knowledge, and become the just and fair ruler for all religions. Personality: An enlightened monarch beyond his time, the first modern European ruler, and one who regained the Holy City of Jerusalem for Christendom through diplomacy alone. Patron of the arts and sciences, Muslims and Jews, and also a lawgiver, poet, and scholar. But his unorthodoxy and skepticism, together with his hunger for power, earned him the ire of the Church of his day, and his threats to the liberty of the Italian cities led to his final defeats. A believer that he is the Viceregent of God on Earth, Frederick is possessed of confidence bordering on arrogance rivaled only by his love of knowledge and beauty in all things. In the modern era, he is endlessly curious about the advancements made after his death, and would gladly spend his time cooped up in a library even if he does reincarnate, which does sap his willingness to slake his burning thirst for power and status. Needless to say, he is divided between his two loves - Power and Knowledge. Parameters Strength: C Endurance: C Agility: C Mana: A+ Luck: E-
Class Skills: Territory Creation: B The ability to build a special terrain that is advantageous to a Magus. At this rank, the creation of a “Workshop” is possible - Frederick II prefers to turn his territories into castles which contain not only the best magical defenses, but also contain books, astronomical tools, gardens and a small aviary and menagerie from where he can send out familiars. Item Creation: A Ferderick II wrote books and law codes in his lifetime, removing antiquated regulations to replace them with new ones which would form the basis of the legal code of Southern Italy and Sicily until the Unification of Italy. As a Caster, he can write books which can teach any mundane subject and ease the casting of most forms of Magecraft, and write law codes which when violated, inflict a minor curse. Personal Skills: Charisma: B You do not get the Muslims to hand you Jerusalem without a fight or keep your men fighting under threat of excommunication without being extremely charismatic,.yet at the same time, you do not get compared to the Antichrist themselves without your Charisma having limits. Bravery: B You do not go up against the authority of The Pope, the money and determination of the Italian City-States, and rebellious nobles and princes in Germany itself, all at the same time, and almost win, if you were a coward. Nor are you afraid to make treaties with Muslims or use them in your armies against fellow Christians without some balls. Ceremonial Reformation: C+ A Skill which improves the functionality of the peoples and lands under the user's control, or in this case, stewardship. You were still crowned by a Pope even though you ended up in conflict with later ones. You still claimed the heritage of Charlamange, and few truly contested that. And finally, you still brought peace and prosperity to Southern Italy and Sicily through the power of law and stewardship. Stupor Mundi, Wonder of the World: A You learned six languages, including Arabic, in your mortal life. You kept leapords, cheetahs, giraffes, exotic birds and an elephant and knew how to take care of them. You astounded people with your unorthodoxy and your belief that you were above the Pope himself. So in these modern nights, why not learn all that you could? Stupor Mundi allows Frederick to learn any subject, mundane and magical, and achieve mastery of it within 24 hours. This includes various Magecraft, as long as he possesses a source of knowledge of said Magecraft. However, this comes at some cost: Not only does Frederick II not start out with any Magecraft of his own, but magical knowledge which is innately corrupting, such as Bluebeard's grimorie, will turn him into a willing servant of eldritch forces should he ever try and study them, which he might at some point.
Noble Phantasm True Name: The Treaty of Jaffa and Tell Ajul Title: The Treaty Rank: A NP Type: Anti-Unit, Anti-Team Range: 1 - 10 Maximum Number of Targets: 1 - 10 Description: The most notable feat that anyone would know of Frederick II was how he talked the current Sultan of Egypt, Al-Kamil, into giving up control of Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Nazareth to the Christians without bloodshed as long as the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque were kept under Muslim rule. Though in real life, there were numerous political reasons for the Sultan to agree to that treaty, and the results lasted only for ten years, the fact was that it was an impressive feat of diplomacy nonetheless, a feat amplified by popular imagination and exaggeration. As a Noble Phantasm, the Treaty can be invoked to give Frederick II's spoken words an astonishing power of bewitchment, enabling him to tell a Master or a weaker-willed Servant to give him one thing he wants. This only works once, however, and cannot be abused to trick people into lasting enslavement. However, it can bewitch a Master into giving up their command seals and dropping from the fight entirely, if it is used right. Note that if the Master is deaf or wearing earplugs or otherwise cannot hear Frederick II, this NP does not work.
