[@Bitterblue111] Ok, so two character ideas from me: Elf mage/fighter - fire themed spells, bow, and long sword for melee. Having trouble coming up with spell consequences aside from legit burning her up. Which, could be an interesting trait; she'd had burn scars along her arms already, maybe charcoal'd flesh? Her clothes would have to be magically imbued to keep from searing off anytime she uses magic, thay sort of thing. Due to the painful ramifications of her magic, she took up physical combat skill sets so she wouldn't be 100% reliant on spells. Dwarf fighter/barbarian - big "af" axe or warhammer (for a Dwarf), mildly armored, hit them hard so they can't hit back kind of vibes. if any magic ability is there it comes in the form of his/her primal rages (ie path of the beast 5e) consequences: tapping into this ability leaves lingering "beast marks" in the form of fangs/sharp teeth, extra hair/fur on body, or claws -- not sure if that borders too closely to how the shifters work though Let me know you thoughts and/or if one of them fits better for the setting :)
I like both ideas, honestly. With your elf idea, that would work as a consequence. Shifters are able to completely change their form. Vivian is an elf/dragon shifter, one of the rarer ones. She was born from another dragon shifter and elf, so that’s where she got her shifting ability. Dwarves are one of the magic races, but it’s very very rare. And it’s normally not very powerful magic either.
