Appearance: Taller than most standing a hundred and eighty centimeters tall with broad shoulders, a small but ever-present smile sits on his lips. Muscle as only a life as a soldier can give and well built beyond the average soldier due to his time off being spent roping and riding cattle. While pale skinned, his life working under the sun and career in the military have given him a fairly dark tan that has deepened his natural skin tone. Brown hair and a groomed beard and moustache to match along with his signature Stetson cut a clear figure of the American Mid-westerner.

History: Born in a small town in rural Montana, James was the only son of a ranch owner mother and father who ranged hundreds if not thousands of head of cattle as they had for generations. James grew learning to rope, ride, and shoot like everyone else in the area giving him an early training in skills he would put to use later in life. He put away his savings for years working on the ranch and competing in rodeo competitions year around while in high school wanting to make something of himself. Studying journalism in college he found he simply didn't have the money to continue in his second year so to the recruiting office he went agreeing to join the military in exchange for them paying out the rest of his college.

Joining the 82d Airborne where he served with honors he would eventually be brought into the Stargate program along with several other units as compliments for the growing number of BC-304's. Specifically for the dropships this new space based force was putting together, they would become the first space born paratroopers. After his first tour of service, he was transferred to the IOA specifically selected along with several other paratroopers to be the ground compliment for the [i]Catherine Langford[/i]. During their conflicts with the Lucian Alliance he would show calm demeanor under fire and lead his men in impressive capture missions and behind enemy which up until now had only been carried out by Air Force SGC teams.

When Captain Catherine Black was transferred, James requested to follow her in her new mission and was assigned to the [i]Nyx[/i] as the leader of ground operations and commander of it's own special recon unit. Excited to be seeing undiscovered Space rather than exploring the Air Forces left overs he hopes when it is over he can get permission to set colonies in the new system possibly be the first rancher from Earth to set up off world.

Personality: Thoughtful and forthright, he values honesty even if blunt and unkind in how he frames it, bad with words and generally soft spoken. However when angered he can be hard to control and vindictively emotional against his enemies, also known be quite the hard ass when taking command of situation. That said, he is prone to naps and drinking from a hip flask of moonshine or smuggled whiskey the location of his still is a topic of annoyance with many of his fellow officers though however often it is taken he somehow gets and it's filled once again. James command is relaxed and charismatic most of the time prefer to treat his team like friends and companions, however on the battlefield he gives order quickly and decisively and will not take no for an answer.

-His still has been discovered and destroyed twice, he still has yet to run out of alcohol and continues to baffle everyone.

Appearance: A well spoken and intellectual young man from Scotland, standing about two hundred and two centimeters the tall and rather well built Scotsman has completed SGC mission training to be cleared for off planet duty leaving rather well muscled. Easily spotted due to his red hair and hard to miss due to his size, Flynn has become an expert on Ancients, Atlantis, and Ori through his research. He has also studied the Goa'uld and more extensively the Asgard. Currently, the leading the search for the Elves of Norse myth, friends of the Asgard. A green eyed and clean shaven young man with a smile and a positive attitude taking much after Daniel Jackson, even believing in the friendly and considerate method of making friends with other species.

History: Born to a Northern Irish mother and Scottish father in Glasglow, Flynn grew up rather normally though having an appetite beyond the norm for reading and research. An amazingly quick study he advanced and graduated three years early from school, his parents found him several scholarships he eventually accepted one to attend school overseas in the US at Yale. However, it was during his time in college when he was brought by IOA specifically to join as a researcher on staff to help fill out the growing need for Star Gate scientific experts. Specifically brought in for his double major in ancient human history and love on foreign languages of which he spoke nearly fifteen. Becoming an apprentice of sort to Daniel Jackson or as Daniel put it his a ,grad student, Flynn who proved a quick study helped Daniel to understand more the Ori and Ancients.

However, as Flynn gained more knowledge he proposed his own theory one that Daniel himself believed could be plausible allowing the young man to research and use SGC resources to to gather evidence. The belief in a group known as Elves, a unique race that had been close friends of the Asgard and had once explored the galaxy alongside them thousands of years ago. These Elves had been referenced by Asgard protected civilizations, pieces of their existence were slowly discovered it was believed that they were a species in the Asgards home galaxy. That as the Asgard had stargates that they must also have them, perhaps a gift left to them by the ancients during the time of the four great races.

This theory was proven correct when using ancient locator Beacon Flynn discovered a Seed Ship sitting deep with the Asgard's home galaxy. With the Replicators gone and the Asgard as a species gone. It meant this galaxy would need it's own large vessel to bring people there and set up their own exploration just as the Atlantis team had done before them. With the goal of meeting these elves, the promise of finding one of the only vessels that could build a Star Gate, and the knowledge that as the fifth race it fell to them to take mantle protecting others. 

Assigned to the [i]Nyx[/i] Flynn is considered to be the reason for this mission and thus will be joining recon one, as it's expert on Asgard and Ancient tech. The young man specifically underwent standard SGC training that all personal go through before traveling through the gate, though many believe he is to naïve and gentle to handle the real pressures of a mission like this.

Personality: From a middleclass family in Glasglow, Flynn spent most of his time buried in books or online researching articles, finding a love of fantasy and history. His great intelligence allowed him to breeze through school to graduate early, however it also led to bullying due to status as a nerd, and his lack of interest in most social aspects. However, choosing to go to college overseas proved a boon as the fresh start as well as his exemplary mind allowed him to make friends with his fellow students. While he lacks romantic experience he did find many close friends and many people found the innocent and younger man charming and gentle.

Trivia: 
-Speaks fluently English, Scotts gaelic, Irish gaelic, Japanese, German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish, Greek, and Portuguese. 
-Prefers living in the states to Scotland, though talks about how wonderful home is all the time.
