The knight wasn't able to grab Mariette thanks to Lily's last-ditch attempt to pass her Ronin's way. However, it seemed that the footba--err, Mariette, had been intercepted by Mayra, rendering the action rather pointless in the end. Hilaria looked at the defeated Lily. It was also true that the blow Hilaria herself had inflicted upon the small girl was far from negligible. She was in desperate need of help and probably couldn't protect herself. Someone could simply reach down and finish her off, so Hilaria figured it may as well be her doing the reaching. Nobody was near enough to prevent her from doing so who might've tried. Though Alex, drawing nearer as she noticed, would have to watch as her arm approached Lily's neck and...
