The area seemed to become darker as if the sun was being blocked by overhead clouds, yet this was not the case. The plaza itself darkened, but everything beyond the location faded into darkness. The plaza became a drifting island in a sea of black unknown. From the south side of the plaza, the large figure that was Umber emerged from the darkness, levitating just above the ground. One of his hands reached out and tapped Artemis's cage. It seemed like a light casual touch, but the cage rattled as if he had given it a shove.
