He’d just appeared out of nowhere, and apparently that made him her problem. Was random children falling out of the sky just something she’d have to deal with, now? Oh, why couldn’t it be handsome men falling out of the sky instead of… more responsibilities… Besides, if the kid’s dad was apparently involved, then Eri thought he should have come along to explain what was going on. It was a bit much to expect his child to do so… and Eri wouldn’t have minded meeting the father. She looked over the boy and imagined what a larger, more mature grown-up version of him might look like. She could get along with that. Maybe he needed a woman who could help raise his son… But Eri was no homewrecker! The kid’s mother was probably a lovely woman. She was probably simple and hadn’t gotten a career as a ninja and hadn’t trained really really hard and wasn’t a war hero. She was probably a simple uncomplicated girl who wasn’t too demanding… a-and that was fine! Eri wasn’t the sort of person to get in the way of a happy couple. Not like the sort of loose-moraled, irresponsible women who would use her social position to worm her way into someone else’s relationship, simply because she couldn’t start one on her own and go around wearing low-cut shirts and sticking those things in men’s faces, who didn’t work a day in their lives and got good at make up and lies instead. Eri would never stoop to their level, no matter how many bad dates she went on, or how lonely she was, or… Suddenly she remembered that the boy was still there. “Listen, you can’t be the sort of guy who just leaps out and jumps on girls! Like, it’s different with enemy ninja, but this is practice! These are supposed to be your companions. And they’re not going to know what you’re doing, or what your intentions are! You’ll come off like a creep. And nobody likes creeps, okay?” After spouting her somewhat confused monologue, Eri realized that she didn’t even know what the kid’s name was. “-Besides, it’s very rude not to introduce yourself.” [/cell][/row]
