So what, her family situation isn’t that great, and sometimes she gets the feeling that she’s unwanted there. She isn’t miserable, though, or depressed. Ramona just likes to have fun, and daddy’s got brimming pockets – rich enough to send her to a litany of boarding schools that she keeps getting kicked out of and absent enough that Ramona’s bad behavior goes unpunished.

Ramona’s been in and out of boarding schools her entire life, because of some cocktail of her step-mother not wanting to see her and her father feeling too guilty to look her in the face. Ramona doesn’t care. She transferred to Marble Heights Academy junior year where she quickly gained a debauched reputation. High school is just a clock that’s ticking by and Ramona can’t wait for it to be over.

Calliope and Valentine spent a week at their estate until Millie Jean could prove that she was healthy enough to take care of her children. After the debacle, Cassian moved the children to Los Angeles.

Things changed for him when, one day, Calliope and him were taken from their school by their nanny and Shanghaied to the hospital. There, Millie Jean waited for them in a hospital gown. In that moment, Valentine had two epiphanies: he didn’t want his mother to die, and it was his job to keep the family together. With Cassian splitting his time between Korea and the US, Valentine began taking care of his little sister to ease the burden off his mother. Often, Valentine would get them up for school and make them dinner. He dismissed their nanny and opted to take care of them himself. He became his mother’s guardian, ensuring she took her pills everyday and somedays would stay home from school to keep her company on particularly bad days.

Things changed after a family dinner went awry. Calliope, sick of her family pretending everything was okay, had an outburst that left the family speechless. Valentine had been ignorant of her feelings, and swore to himself to pay more attention to her from then on. He comforted her after her outburst, held her in his arms, and when she decided to go to Marble Heights Academy, he followed her. Valentine was reluctant to leave his mother, but Cassian had returned to take care of her.

Junior year of high school at Marble Heights was spent what he was best at, keeping to himself. Sure, he made a few friends, but for the most part he kept them at arms’ length and concentrated all his social energy in taking care of Calliope.

Others might find them charming, a perfect fit for her face where all her features are exaggerated. Just like her blue eyes, her lips are amplified – even her two front teeth are large and in charge as well as her groomed thick eyebrows. When it comes to her clothes, Kinga takes a lot of inspiration from 90s grunge – baggy retro shirts, ripped blue jeans, and holey sneakers with added accents of flannel…lots and lots of flannel.[/sup]

[sup]Kinga doesn’t have much of a reputation at Marble Heights Academy. Mostly because she’s a big believer in keeping her head down and her friendships small. The people that do notice her, or try to engage in conversation with her, often note that she’s snarky and sarcastic. When she’s not with her friends, Kinga is prickly and has a hard time relating to others. Her friends seem to enjoy her company, though, and most of them see past her acerbic and nonchalant front to the caring person underneath. [/sup][/cell][/row]

That’s what her father told her when at the age of nine after she had broken her ankle in ballet. [color=white][i]“You should have practiced more.”[/i][/color] He had said over the top of his newspaper, a cigar in his hand. Kinga quit ballet after that. 

Kinga was born into a strict Roman Catholic family in Warsaw, Poland. Her father was a wealthy politician and her mother a devout churchgoer. Being in the public eye from a young age, their single daughter was expected to be pious, talented, and smart. Kinga fucking hated it. Her childhood was a series of hobbies being forced upon her – ballet, soccer, piano. The only thing that actually stuck was violin, something she had a natural knack for and she [i]almost[/i] enjoyed it. For the longest time, Kinga was a good little doll for them. She practiced hard, worked on her grades, made friends with the influential. 

Then she discovered the occult.

Kinga had impulsively ducked into an occult shop while trying to avoid a politician’s dick of a son. While waiting him out, she browsed the stuff and it soon became a secret obsession of hers. She loved all things occult – but she was especially drawn to Satanism. The allure of freedom and hedonism that Kinga was refused had been intoxicating. She collected items from that shop like snow globes. She became friends with the American store owner, changed her style to be more inspired by the 90s American grunge movement, and delved into the occult. 

When her parents happened across her stash, her mom having raided her room while she was at school, Kinga was promptly sent away to a boarding school in the United States – Marble Heights Academy. This is her second year attending.

He has a reputation for being volatile and picking fights with others, sometimes even going in for the long con and planning pranks. Some would even describe him as a bully and semi-psycho the way he targets people he perceives as wronging him. Despite the rumor circulating that he is a sociopath, Honey is capable of making bonds with others and is known for being fiercely protective of his friends. If you insult one of his friends, Honey will go for your throat until he’s satisfied with his revenge.[/sup][/cell][/row]

[sup]When you meet a child with behavioral issues like Honey, the first thought typically is “Why is he such a dick?” Well, to put it simply, Honey’s parents are dicks. 

Honey was born to a subpar high school math teacher, Crawford Emerson, and a first-generation Mexican immigrant, Mariana Aguirre. He was raised in Fort Worth, Texas in the suburbs. Most of his life was controlled by his mother, who was the very definition of a helicopter mom, and his dad was absentee. Crawford barely gave his family any attention, probably due to the fact he was having a series of affairs which kept him a very busy man. 

Honey started acting out when he was ten. He was being bullied on the playground and he decided to fight back finally, pushing his bully to the ground and punching him square in the jaw. That day, Honey found out how powerful and in control violence made him feel. In middle school, Honey got involved with the bad crowd. He would sneak out at night and get up to all different kinds of illegal activities – mostly underage drinking and graffiti. Mariana was unimpressed with his behavior and tried several methods of punishment to get him to stop, but never really tried to sit him down and ask why he was acting out.

Honey was sent to Marble Heights Academy freshman year after he skipped school and came home early, discovering his father and a local waitress in his parents’ bed. After that, his father sent him off to ensure he kept his silence.

She’s been known to get in fights because of her hot-headedness and excitability, but she’s also quick to forgive and forget. [sup]Unlike some of her peers, Lucy Samson is not rich or affluent. Fuck, she’s not even smart enough to get a scholarship. Lucy is a simple girl from a small family of three – her mom, her little sister, and hers truly. They lived in a small home in Wales on a small mountain; Lucy had to bike up and down the incline every day for school. The Samsons struggled with finances, it happens when you are supporting three on a single income. 

As a child, Lucy didn’t have many passions – she dipped her toes in everything and never found anything that stuck. That is, until at the age of thirteen she saw a live volleyball game and decided to dedicate all her energy into the sport. Unfortunately, her school was too small to have a volleyball team and instead she spent her time benchwarming soccer games while watching volleyball clips on her phone. 

Lucy never gave up on her dream of playing volleyball, was never close to giving up on her dream, but she was beginning to resign herself to a volleyball-less academic experience when luck struck. Well, more accurately, Ms. Luckamore struck…as in, physically, with a car. Ms. Luckamore was an American woman on vacation in Wales and not accustomed to driving on the left side of the road and Lucy’s mom has poor reaction time in crises. Like a volleyball angel bursting into her life, Ms. Luckamore slammed into their car. No one was hurt, but the car was damaged beyond repair and, well, Ms. Luckamore couldn’t actually [i]legally[/i] drive in Wales. Dazed and confused, Lucy’s mom could only accept it when Ms. Luckamore began invading their life with riches and pleas, buying the family’s silence (even when Lucy’s mother profusely swore she would never tell anyone). After learning of Lucy’s passion for volleyball, Ms. Luckamore offered to pay for Lucy to go to an esteemed academy in America with an impressive volleyball team. 

It’s her junior year and her second year of attending Marble Heights Academy. It’s also Lucy’s mom and Ms. Luckamore’s six month anniversary.
