I'm back from a long break from the RP game, and I wanted to ease back in with a tried and true topic: Super powers.

So what I'm thinking is an X-man style universe where those with powers aren't treated too kindly. Maybe something happened. Maybe the government cracked down on superhumans and things have spiraled down a pit of corruption since. Superhumans must be registered and fitted with power dampeners if they wish to live normal lives within society. And even then, they face blatant prejudice.

If they wish to use their powers, then they must submit to the Superhuman Defense and Management Sector, a branch of the government/military that deploys superhumans as they see fit. 

All superhumans, upon discovering their powers, must attend The Academy. There, they learn to control their powers before they decide to reintegrate into society, or join the SDMS. Stories of what happens inside The Academy float around superhuman circles. Abuse, prison-like confinement, brainwashing, torture, the works. But surely those are just rumors. 

Still, it's not like supers are lining up to sign in. So, the Superhuman Recovery Squads were formed. These are superhuman individuals given the task of searching out and hunting down other superhumans. 

That's the gist of the idea. So your role options are: a rogue superhuman, a power dampened superhuman just living their life, a recovery agent, a superhuman inside the Academy, a worker inside the Academy, and I'm sure there's more. Thoughts and opinions?
