In his people's script, they read out as "The Living Damned." Attire: Roose always wears his favorite leather jacket when not in combat missions - even trying to get away with it during patrols. He reluctantly wears the provided uniforms provided to him though he claims that they don't provide enough insulation. History: On the outskirts of civilization, one might think that only the toughest, the scariest, or the cleverest tribes survive. However for the people of the settled Tadamur clan, they can claim that it is their unbreakable brotherhood that has sustained their people throughout the ages. Their tenacity has beaten back other nomadic tribes looking to subjugate them, some even twice their size, due to each of their soldiers fighting back with the strength of ten. In times when that wasn't enough, they had also used weapons traded from foreign lands such as artillery pieces and Mobile Suits. No matter the trial or tribulation, this extended collection of families bounded by camaraderie would always support their sons and daughters in their endeavours. So it must have been quite the sin for one Rostam Tadamur to commit for him to be expelled by his people. He would have nothing but the shirt on his back when he first arrived in Armen looking for work in order to survive. Luckily for him, his nomadic lifestyle equipped him with skills that the Empire needed. First, he started as a desert guide for the local garrison in order to successfully find the hideouts which raiding bandits had operated from. He then used what little savings he had to buy equipment to work as an auxiliary specializing in tracking defectors, escaped prisoners, and whoever else had thought that they could hide in the borderlands of the Empire. With each subsequent traitor brought to justice, Rostam's payday kept getting bigger and allowed him to sample the comforts and luxuries brought from the Imperial heartland. This mercurial lifestyle would go on for eight years before his past would finally catch up to him. As the empire's border expansions finally started to encroach on Tadamur territory, Rostam decided to formally join the Beloth Empire's armed forces in a posting far away from the Levantine front. Fear and sadness grip his heart if he were to see his old family once again. So with a newly Belothicized identity, Roose Tadmoore soon found himself in the heart of civilization. Due to his actual combat experience and manhunting skills, Roose would only spend a couple of years in the regular forces. However, that brief time saw him assigned to the hellscape known as the northern front before being selected to join a newly formed MS squad bound for space, far away from his old family. Skills: Roose believes that range and preparation are the best advantages one can have over an opponent, whether on foot or in a Mobile Suit. Specifically, he favors using artillery to draw out opponents from their defensive position and to mask his allies advance with the resulting smoke from the shell explosions using a tactic known as the Creeping Barrage. As well, his skills as a tracker are still sharp as ever with him knowing what clues to look for when pursuing someone. To the untrained eye, this Mobile Suit is woefully under-equipped and lacking when compared to the other models operating in the battlefield. In the hands of a veteran soldier such as Roose, this Mobile Suit's complete lack of discernible features will take complete advantage of those that underestimate it as the inner circuitry is actually on par with contemporary models. To his credit, there are no visible damage marks on his specific unit.
Technical Details
Accommodation: Pilot only (in cockpit in torso) Dimensions: 17.5 meters Powerplant: Minovsky type ultracompact fusion reactor Equipment and Design Features: Super-Hard Steel Alloy Armor Low-costing and readily available, the Zaku I's armor composition was always meant for mass production. However, that's not to say that it is unreliable as this particular alloy is resistant to corrosion, wearing, and impact damage. Not only that, it is one of the more powerful alloys when you consider its density to mass rating which allows for proportionally higher power output compared to similarly built models. Zaku Mono-Eye Perhaps the most useful - and arguably only - feature of the Zaku, the mono-eye camera is capable of deploying a rangefinder and helps the pilot re-align targeting sights despite Minovsky particle interference.
Weapons and Combat Capabilities

Handheld Armaments
120mm Machine Gun A standard drum-fed shell firing rifle with auto, semi-auto, and single fire modes. Using this weapon does not take up any internal energy from the Mobile Suit itself and can be freely equipped or discarded. Heat Hawk Using excess power from the Mobile Suit's portable reactor, heat-based weaponry very often cleave through most unprotected portions of enemy mobile suits. However, Roose considers this a last resort to be used only if the enemy has closed in on him. 280mm Zaku Bazooka A portable shell based firearm primarily used for anti-ship combat due to how inaccurate it would be against moving targets. Regardless, it will punch through most conventional armor if it lands a direct hit, not to mention the guaranteed collateral damage to those near the blast.
Fixed Armaments
Spiked Knuckle Built-in to the hands of the Zaku itself, these weapons are for even more desperate times. Theoretically, they should be able to break rocks though it is recommended to use a dedicated drill unit instead.
Strengths and Weaknesses
The simplicity and intuitiveness of the MS-05Q Zaku I allows for easy mastery of this Mobile Suit. However, the maximum potential of this unit is only unlocked by creative pilots due to how limited it is in possible equipment loadouts. As with most of the early iterations of the Zaku, this model does not excel in any particular field and cannot deploy beam weaponry either.
Technical History
Due to carbon dating and archaeological discoveries, it is widely known in weapons development circles that the MS-05B Zaku I is the earliest known mass produced unit model from the Universal Century. Using similar techniques, it has also been deduced that the MS-05Q Zaku I was actually developed five years after that first model. While their outer appearances are quite similar, the streamlined designs of the Q iteration have more similarities with the MS-06F Zaku II than the base model Zaku I. There are a few theories as to why this is the case, ranging from considering the pilot's cosmetic preference to a recycling initiative implemented by the armed forces which deployed these Mobile Suits. Regardless, it now finds it's way in the hands of the Beloth Empire and its soldiers.
