Ofcourse it was his weight lifting classes, what else would it be? He heard the tell tale sign of the alcohol being poured into his glass as he picked it up and slug it back once more. The warmth that had taken over him was now burning hotter than before, and his cheeks felt practically on fire as his lips went on pins and needles. He took one step behind Colby as he made his way towards their shared room to get the cats. The room reverberated and his vision became unfocused as Matthew tried to recenter himself. Red and the others had arrived now and he wasn't quite sure if they needed to stay or if they were free to go, but as the booze made its way around his system he began to care less and less about what it was that they wanted and more and more about Colby's sudden urge to go get the cats. He took another step, then another, walking right behind Colby as they ascended the stairs towards the rooms and his mind began to race. Maddie was wondering if they were truly going to get the cats, or was this an excuse to step away from it all. Even then was this excuse simply so that they weren't in the same room as those who would think that Rosalias actions were ok? Or was he trying to get Matthew alone with him in privacy? His cheeks were flushing even more now as his eye's widened and he thought about if Colby would be the kind of guy to ask him up to kiss. He didn't know if he felt the same as him, if he cared the way he did, or if he even viewed him in any way more than simply a friend or acquaintance with a cat. His thoughts enveloped his mind as he tripped on a floorboard and tumbled forward, catching himself on Colby's biceps, why did they have to be so nice? He felt warm, familiar, and safe. He had this scent, something unlike anything he'd ever caught off of another person, a scent he could bottle up for those times he needed reassurance and safety to come to him easily. Matthew realized he had lingered on Colby's back and was still holding his arms. He got off of him and blushed some more as he drunkenly leaned against the wall, looking down and avoiding Colby's gaze. He didn't want to look at his eyes, not right now, not when his mind wasn't right. But he needed to ask, needed to know. "C-Colby. Did you...invite me back up to get away from them or...were you hoping to...get me alone...to...y'know...k-kiss." His face was now beet red with embarrassment, ofcourse that wasn't why he asked him up here, and he had just made a fool of himself by asking.
