For the kids that graduated from Edenridge High last year, that statement held a lot more meaning than one might think. After four years marked by recurring tragedies, senior year was supposed to be a time to forget, to forgive, to dream and to love but one final devastating event not only affected the students of the school but the small community of Edenridge itself. A long road to recovery lay before the people of the Boston suburb and they could only head down it together. Upon a graduation that many did not think was going to happen, Edenridge High closed its doors and a class of students that many around them deemed cursed went off on their individual journeys into a myriad of uncertain futures. One year later and old friends return to their Massachusetts hometown for the first summer after college. Some of them are well on their way to reaching the goals they set for themselves; others are struggling and are haunted by the events of the previous years. As the hot summer days wind on, these friends and classmates discover that the more things change, the more things stay the same and that sometimes love, friendships, challenges and triumphs last a little longer than the four years of high school. Welcome home…

Hey all, first I have to thank you for popping interest here, it’s greatly appreciated. So the basic idea behind this RP is a group of young friends who graduated high school and headed off to do whatever and are now back home one year later for the summer. All these kids survived a horrific ordeal and are still coming to terms with it. The RP will follow these characters as they struggle with their own problems: employment, school, relationships, etc., as well as a vast spectre of a trauma that follows them around like a shadow. The aim is to experience the good times, the bad times and everything in between. It will be a fairly collaborative piece and it will explore some mature content all of which will be tackled tactfully and accurately labelled with a trigger warning so as to not offend anyone. Enough interest and I’ll start up a discord and we’ll go from there!

Located in South Boston, Massachusetts; Edenridge is a community of mixed heritage and culture. Although not considered as bad as the Southie neighbourhood just across the tracks, the twelve block radius which spans Edenridge is known as a “no fly zone” with signs stating “Locals Only” or “Offcomers Go Home”. It is a proud community that is made up of people who were born and will likely die there. To leave Edenridge is a challenge which many fail to meet. Most businesses in the area are family run affairs and have been around for generations with ownership being passed from father to son. There are more little Mom and Pop cafe’s than there are Starbucks and the residents wouldn’t have it any other way. The same could be said for any food joints as the diners and food trucks outweigh the McDonalds and Burger Kings by a great deal. Of course, the focal point to the neighbourhood is the local high school, Edenridge High. Situated at the heart of the town, Edenridge High was a source of pride for the locals. It was not an academically sound school with much of its budget being poured into the Football, Hockey and Baseball programs. With good reason, the populace would justify as many alumni would go on to play for the Patriots, Bruins or Red Sox. For the most part, Edenridge was a normal school in a normal town. It wasn’t until a new freshmen class in 2016 arrived that Edenridge became a source of concern. The event that set it all off was the death of Alison Davies; cheerleader, homecoming and prom Queen, a golden child of the people. She died at a party from the drug overdose. Something about her passing seemed to set off a chain of events which would shake the close knit community to its very core. Over the next four years, Edenridge High and the class of ‘16 were the victims of various tragic and sad events with town deeming many of them cursed or bad luck. The worst of them all, however, was on the first day of senior year. It was a warm day in Boston, MA, and everyone was happy to see each other after a long summer. Then Charlie Decker walked into the school with a gun and opened fire. Charlie was a senior and based on the writings later found in his room, he felt forgotten and lost as the people around him grew and evolved together. His rampage of terror lasted only an hour, but the effects would be felt for a lot longer. Charlie’s sad life ended in a hail of gunfire but many lives were lost that day, and many more were changed forever. With a great amount of courage, the town rallied together and the students finished out the year before they headed off on their journeys towards the future. One year on, the town is still recovering and Edenridge High has been closed down. With a now weakened resolve, the town had become susceptible to gentrification and the big companies are now starting to make their way in and take over the homegrown businesses. The pupils that were at Edenridge have been spread out across different schools, still wearing the fresh, painful scars of the past.

[pre]
[pre] Name
First Middle Last
Nicknames
As many as you want or none at all!
Age
Self-explanatory
Gender
Self-explanatory
Sexuality
Self-explanatory
Relationship Status
Self-explanatory
Appearance Details Can be paragraphs or bullets following this guideline:

Hair: Color | Type | How it's usually styled or worn
Eyes: Color
Height: In feet and inches
Body Type: Figure, build, etc.
Clothing Style: Type of Fashion | Examples of clothing items they wear frequently or that can be found in their closet
Makeup Wise: If applicable.
