I will throw you into a little bit of everything.

Gothic Steampunk Horror to Downton Abbey frivolities...so I'd say just choose the path you wish to follow and how you want to play. There will be times we'll be doing a lot of dialogue and there will be moments where all we'll get is internal work so I'd leave it to the situation.

As for the characters, we might run into them, it solely depends on how the tracks will be laid down since I do still have some storylines that are not so tied down that I am thundering down this railroad, but also will try to alter paths when you take a different route than I had thought out. 

For now we still have a little moment of peace before the storm is going to go down, so you'll get a little more characters introduced and feel free to add your own.
As for weapons, well I never really considered lasers to be the kind of tech Belisio would really use.
So I always envisioned more steampunk type weaponry or old medieval weaponry really, with some magical tampering around them.
