The two would spend the first ten years of Kavs life travelling wherever they chose to go, sleeping wherever they laid their heads at night. Mary Hishamie was very resourceful, having been a hunter in her past, and would care for Kavius the best she could. Unfortunately some of her bad habits would be implemented into Kav from such a young age. Only doing what your personally interested in, napping in strange places, and possibly be more curious than even the cat would be. From the time Kav could start understanding words and speaking he wa staught the necessary things to know when living on the road. Normally f Mary was interested in something, Kav would be right behind her as he was enamored by his mother. He believed her to be the smartest and bravest women in the world, always thinking he would have his mother as company on the road for the rest of his life. Illness would take her life shortly after Kav turned ten, after an unfortunate and unlucky adventure thw two of them had went through, and he wa sleft on his own for the better part of three years. It was then that he would meet the man he would only know as "Mentor". A tall, strong, soldier looking man who would take Kav on as his apprentice pretty much against Kavs will. Mentor found Kav one day siting on the side of the road, alone, sleeping in a sitting up position. When the man woke Kavius up and asked him what he was doing, Kav proceeded to try to ignore him. This only made the man more curious and would continue to pester Kav for the next few hours of the day. After a failed escape attempt from the man, Kav was surprised when the stranger stated he was impressed with his escape attempt. How he was quick, smart, and seemingly alone out here. The strange stated that since he himself had recently found himself with a lot of free time and Kav seemed too young to be alone that he would stick around and show him some things that would help Kavius live the way he did but a lot more comfortably. The Mentor and Kav would form a close bond, becoming more father and son then master and apprentice, as mentor would spend the next two years of Kavs life teaching Kav how to think outside the box, the basics on several several different subjects, and how to live life on your own. Mary taught Kav how to feed and water himself, how to build shelters and such, Mentor taught Kav to thrive. After two years of this, Mentor would disappear one morning without a word. Kavius would use this departure from his mentor as the reason to set out and live life in whatever way he chose. Spending the last number of years learning under mentor had prepared him after his mother died, but now Kavius believed he was ready to not die a horrible death if he got into a jam. At least he hoped. The years went by and Kavius had stayed on Airi for two reasons. One is because he had very little money and knew very little on how to proceed next. The second reason was simple. He wasn't done with Airi yet! By the time Kavius was a bit he had been able to amass a decent amount of money due to finding odd jobs from people an saving away, sleeping outside, finding his food rather then paying. Kavius did pay occasionally for books which he would then lose himself in reading before trying to sell it later. Life had its somewhat more unpleasant times. Kavius had been the victim of people attempting to steal from him and even take his life. Through a lot of trial and error Kavius learned how to fight as well. As such it happened that one day he happened to pass by a group of mean ganging up on a single person in an alley. Normally if it had been something a little more fair there was a chance he would just keep walking, but that seemed a little unfair. He quickly ducked through alleyway, and quickly incapacitated the first. Quickly the other men followed swift in the jaws of unconsciousness. Kavius held out his hand to the fallen women, and with a smile he asked "Hi Im Kavius. Are you hungry too? I know a place with great spaghetti." He treated the women to Spaghetti as promised, and as he too was hungry he also ordered spaghetti. Kavius attempted to conversate in between bites, and was delighted to hear another travelers stories. After the delicious meal was over, Kavius said his goodbyes and went on his way. Only to be followed by the interesting young lady, in which not a word was said about. Kavius didn't mind this new companion on his journey to explore.
