Notes: Considering that after the Tati Knock Down Pay Per View it was calm in quarantine so we are pushing through that and jumping to the final bits of testimony - Gunny and Cage's testimonies as well as a piece of evidence. Hold on, you will need to go back and read a lot. I am providing as many links as possible but I suggest reading up some so you know how to have your character react. (Nothing big in quarantine but Gunny's Office and the Jail are big chunks.) That being said - make sure you know or have an idea where you want your character to be going soon since we will do a time jump when this is over - people will be given more freedoms, we will get to the end of the whole probationary period as well. If you are wanting to shelve a character at time jump let me know! "Right... Be there shortly," he said before it went silent. Mary was making her rounds and came in and saw what was going on with Lucy and Lisa. "Damn it..." she whispered under her breath as she walked over and turned off the monitor. Pulling up a seat she sat down and just looked at the child. She didn't say anything else, instead just sitting there watching the girls lifeless body and every so often looking over at Lisa. This was hard. They all knew it was coming. Part of Mary had hoped the girl could hold on longer but there was a part of her that was glad it was over. Lucy had been in a lot of pain and there was nothing they could do for her. The thing was Mary knew even if the world hadn't been turned upside down Lucy most likely would have passed away at the same moment. The cancer was just too aggressive and there wouldn't have been anything more they could do besides pump her with chemicals that would have just weakened her. The minutes seemed to tick by but eventually Medic came into the room, Guy was with him pushing a gurney. Guy took his hat off when he saw the little girl. He hadn't met her before but he had heard about her form Medic. Medic had spent some time in the hospital before being assigned to an away team. "Who's going to do the paper work?" Medic asked. "I will do it," Mary said as she took a file from Medic as he held it out. Medic nodded. "Lisa, go take some time," she said as she pulled the table away from over the bed, a single yellow crayon rolling off the sunflower picture that Lucy had drawn before the story and onto the floor. Medic and Guy stood back and waited for the ladies to move back some so they could move the body. There were no big incidents after that that needed addressing. Even what happened in Hunters interview was glossed over, it being said that the interview was a private matter between him and Maddoc - something that Maddoc got up to put on record that he and Hunter had moved past it and that he still stood by his decision and notes on record in Hunters file. Nikki was called back up briefly as she was the only one to really get close to Hunter during the remainder of Quarantine. The kiss was mentioned and Nikki was asked directly why she had done that. Sitting there in the witness chair she responded directly while looking at Hunter the entire time. "I thought he was cute and from what I had personally seen of the guy at that time I thought he was sweet and cute. Sure, awkward as hell but who the fuck wasn't coming in from out there? I was ten times worse," she said before being dismissed. Thana watched from up above and wondered what was coming next. It was interesting to learn about things that she had been witness to since she got back during their last day. She had read about some of them in the reports she needed to go over but Hunter hadn't stood out to her. Beatrice did, as did Froggy - the two that were not here anymore. It made her wonder what they were up to now and where they were. She hoped Beatrice was alright. She really didn't know Froggy but Beatrice had meant something to her and to her group for a long time. That wasn't going away just because she wasn't present in the camp. Maybe they would see each other again. "Gunny, would you take the stand," The Professor asked. Rising from his seat behind the table Gunny stood and walked over to the witness chair. The man took his oath, promising what others had before him before taking his seat. "Would you put into your own words the events that transpired and lead up to the formal charges of Court Martial to be filed against Mr. Monroe?" Sitting there back straight and still, Macsen answered the question. "Mr. Monroe was brought into me after a call came in about being AWOL for a time. He entered my office and relayed the charges that had been filed against him so far as well as reports on him since his exit from quarantine. I asked him if he denied the charges. He did not deny the charges but made it clear that he thought they were excessive on some and that he didn't actually remember much of what he had done the night before. Mr. Monroe seemed to show remorse for what he did remember concerning Checkbook. He also felt as if he was making enemies. I told him I did not think it was such but that I believed he was trying to keep people at a distance." "And what from this lead to the additional charges?" The Professor asked. "What happened next. Due to the charges, per the Camps disciplinary terms it was simple enough. Special privileges are removed. Being that Mr. Monroe was a new person in camp and only on day 1 of his probation he did not have but one special privilege: the dog. It was ordered that the dog be removed from his care until further notice," Gunny said in an even tone. "So not permanently?" "No, not permanently, just until Mr. Monroe corrected his behavior and earned special privileges back." "Then what happened?" "Mr. Monroe became unhinged. Bringing up that since our threats didn't work and accusing the camp of trying to pacify him by taking away the thing of most emotional value." "But we have established about the falsity of this threat." "You have. Called the punishment petty, asked if we enjoyed this, if we enjoyed breaking people mentality and emotionally so that we could abuse them in any manner we wished. Said we were sick, assholes. Told us as a collective to fuck off. Though he was much more vulgar over all and threatening." "Classic case of insubordination?" "I have seen far less from men who had been through far worse. At this point I was informed of the failure to administer animal sanitation by DoLittle. Due to his inability to maintain a stable mental footing and his refusal to see what was actually going on while insulting the entire camp he was placed under arrest and I placed my recommendation for exile. After that he was removed and taken to lock up." Macsen was dismissed from the witness chair and Cage was brought up and sworn in before questioning began. "The kid came straight in with an attitude. Typical really of anyone getting thrown into lock up. We did have a dead one that needed cleaning." "And did this continue on the recordings?" The Professor asked. That got Thana's attention. She leaned up some. "Yes, apparently I am the winner of the Not My Job Award because I think people should do their jobs," he said before glancing over at Hunter. "Top shelf behind the book stacks. Can't stay down there the entire time making sure you don't try something stupid," he admitted about the camera in the room. Thing was, he didn't mention Hunters little break down over the rodent. "He continued through most of his lock up to have an attitude." "You're dismissed. Let us see the evidence," The Professor said as a TV and VCR was rolled onto stage and Cage stepped down. Pushing a tape in, it showed the interaction between Ash, Hunter, and Ted when they came to clean up the remains until they left and Cage came in with the tray. Cage leaned back in the seat and watched. Nikki physically cringed to hear Hunter, her eyes going over to him and mouthing what the hell?. Now it made sense why Cages testimony hadn't been in-depth, why Ash wasn't called back up or Ted, or even Nikki. They had recorded it and placed the main things into a collection that might have been titled - Hunters Greatest Hits. As it came to an end Cage shook his head towards Hunter. Cage hadn't reviewed the sound on the tape yet, he rarely did. He watched it without sound to watch the person and not get distracted, to make sure they weren't trying to break out. Now he knew that Hunter had been informed where he was and getting him food but the kids attitude never dropped. Cage looked away. He had been trying for the kid. Now he knew the kid was going to think the worst even when he was informed of the truth. The tape cut to the next part: Nikki coming in to speak with Hunter. It showed Hunter jumping down her throat. It stopped when shortly after she left. It picked back up again when Roy came in and told Hunter he needed to stop being constantly hostile and Hunter went off yet again. It cut off after the dog was brought in for Hunter. After that the tape was over. It didn't show anymore. Setting down the file she had been holding, the Professor picked up a legal pad that seemed to have a lot written on it. Taking a sip of water she turned her attention towards Hunter. "Mr. Monroe, we have now finished questioning witnesses from quarantine and I believe we have established a pattern of behavior for you." Stepping forward she clutched the pad in her hands against her midsection as she looked him over. "Now is your turn. Will you testify on your own behalf or will you plead the fifth and remain silent? Remember if you testify you will be sworn in and questioned, if you plead the fifth you will be expected to remain silent." She stood there and waited an answer. If Hunter chose to be questioned and get a chance to speak on his own behalf he would be sworn in. If not, she would move on. It was now or never.
