Karine has short, brown hair that is usually messy, and her eyes are a deep blue. Though her warm clothes worn all year often hide it, she has an athletic build that reflects her active lifestyle. Karine usually wears warm clothes at all times, the lightest clothing she commonly wears being a tracksuit. When utilizing her abilities, ice crystals form all around her, frosting her skin, clothing, and lingering around her in a way that looks like her hair is lengthened. [b]Personality[/b] Karine tempers a burning heart with her cool (pardon the pun) exterior. She loves physical activity and hates standing still. She'll likely try any activity she can just to keep things moving. This has lead to her having a somewhat short attention span: She often does whatever she thinks is fun at the time, and often will be doing something different the next day. This has let her have a shallow knowledge of plenty of things, but she never really focuses long enough to master something. She enjoys healthy competition regardless of winning or losing, but despises foul play. She generally dislikes dishonesty; she will often bluntly call out things she considers to be false or lies. With friends she is energetic and somewhat exhausting (if left unchecked). At times she has to be reminded that not everyone shares her innate desire to keep moving. It's in her nature to go for physical contact with people she knows; she is said to be an aggressive hugger. She becomes lazy (or rather, overly content) when given a supply of heat. Oftentimes the only way to get her to do anything is to remove the source. On the counter side, if she is forced to sit still for too long, or in a generally cold area, she tends to get abrasive. Some friends may note that she acts differently as the seasons change, though her wardrobe of extremely warm clothes helps keep her from being eternal cranky during the cold months. [b]History[/b] Karine is the daughter of a man and yuki-onna. Her father is from Russia, but Karine was more or less raised in Sentouji. She grew up fairly separated from others, though whether that was due to a solitary spirit or her status as a half-youkai is up to debate. Despite being a quiet child in elementary school, she came out of her shell more in high school, most notably when she went through a trial run of almost every single sports club in her school. [b]Class Name[/b] Ice Hand (Fighter-Arts) Rank 2 [b]Trained School[/b]: Snowfall Karine has a natural affinity with cold and ice manipulation. This school is a focused variant of Sonshou. Actually, it basically is just Sonshou, but Karine's mother insisted that it be given its own name to respect Karine's heritage. [b]Talents[/b]: -Woman-At-Arms: Karine has not opted for studying any particular style of combat, but instead has learned to fight with her ability to shape ice into weaponry. She can adapt her style and weapons to match the circumstances of a fight, but she is not as strong with any individual weapon as someone who has trained for a single fighting style. -Cold Immunity: Karine is nearly unaffected by extreme cold or icy terrain. [b]Signature Spells:[/b] -Crystal Arms: Karine can form ice into weapons and items. These weapons/items are not particularly strong, but she has excellent control over them and if broken can be re-created quickly. -Blizzard: Lowers ambient temperature around Karine considerably; within a small amount of time the area around her will begin to freeze and become difficult to navigate by others. If sustained further, the area will become cold enough to be a danger to other living things. -Heat Sense: When focusing, Karine can use her innate sense for warmth to discern anything that gives off heat within the area, as well as recent paths heat sources have taken. [b]Fighter Techniques:[/b] -Feint: Karine can use her control over the shape of her weapons to attack in ways that can avoid or break guards. For example, swinging with a light sword and suddenly changing it to a heavy club, twisting the shape of a spear to strike even if deflected, and lengthening a weapon to hit at an unexpected range.
