For the most part, things didn't really seem to change much, though there were a few characters that stood out to the girl. A couple of other Faunus had appeared and were hanging around the vicinity, a few of them striking up a conversation with each other. A couple of other quiet characters stuck out to her, characters that would likely fall under the radar to the rest. The boisterous attitudes and hefty helpings of bravado were only compensation, in Mei's eyes, for a lack of confidence. The ones that were really capable were already ready, no doubt, and didn't have to laugh off what was likely fear and trepidation. Mei shrugged and snuggled up in her sleeping bag. She was tempted to scare that one Wolf faunus again, just for fun (in Mei's mind, scaring somebody out of their mind was a fairly normal introduction), but she resisted and laid down in the bag. She would've probably gone to sleep then and there if it weren't for the obnoxiously loud squealing noise that soon filled the room. Mei opened her eyes blearily at the source of the commotion to see four other Huntsmen-to-be surrounding a female Faunus. The four were wearing silk pajamas that oozed wealth, and one of them- a fairly tall, distinguished-looking young man with pale skin cropped black hair- was dangling the smaller Faunus by her tail a couple of inches from the ground. He laughed coldly as the girl squealed in pain, bobbing her centimeters from the floor like a human yo-yo. "What the hell sort of animal are you supposed to be?" he laughed as he swung the girl back and forth like a pendulum. It was clear the poor thing was on the verge of tears. This wasn't exactly a fantastic first-day welcome, to be fair. One of the other lackeys, a blonde-haired boy of similar stature and fancy sleepwear spoke up. "Think she said she's some sort of kangaroo." Briar laughed coolly, dropping the Kangaroo Faunus face-first onto the ground. "Freaks. Mother told me this was a prestigious institution, not a carnival show." He laughed snootily as his eyes scanned across the room, as if on a search for said freaks. His eyes locked onto Violet like he was a fighter drone that was homing in on his target. "Wow. Incredible. One could tell Professor Ozpin was gone just by taking a look at the student body. This is a school for Huntsmen, not a school for the disabled!" Briar, along with his other 3 goons, laughed alongside him as if he had just told the funniest joke in the world. "Are those arms made of tin or metal? Actually, we can find out!" Briar turned towards the darker-skinned youth. "Urq! Show her." Urq nodded, raising his palm, and suddenly, Violet's metal arm detached and jerked towards him as it was pulled towards the magnet pole concentrated at the junior Huntsman's palm, flying into his outstretched palm. Briar continued to chuckle at the poor girl's great misfortune. "Let me get this straight- you expect to beat Grimm but you can't even beat a horseshoe magnet? Give me a break." Mei was watching these goons with growing annoyance. She wasn't exactly what one would consider an upstanding citizen, but what was happening in front of her eyes was causing a great deal of discomfort for the girl. Stealing another person's arm crossed quite a few lines for her. And so, she reluctantly removed herself from her sleeping bag, wearily standing to face the group of elitist snobs that were now bullying the poor girl. She didn't have her weapon on her, as it was, along with the rest of her stuff, stored in a locker, but with Mei, anything was a weapon. She had grabbed a toothbrush from her toiletries and began to channel her Semblance into it, the thistles of the brush beginning to glow red hot as she crept silently around the room and prepared to face down with the bullies. It seemed most eyes were either closed asleep or right on the group of miscreants, so Mei quietly crept around behind them, preparing for an ambush (with a toothbrush). What a first day this was going to end up being. Meanwhile, as the other bullies continued to laugh at Violet, Briar made sure to gave a smarmy wink over at Albedo, who was still cowering in the corner, and a flashy grin. First impressions were everything in this life, after all.
