Essentially, we're mortals, for the most part, who got Keys of Creation (different name but same concept as a Key of Kings) shoved in our foreheads and got transported to Heaven. Which again is just Throne but with a different name. This makes us New Gods (demiurges).

Devils and Angels can also be played, but they're different from mortals and I'm fairly certain they cannot hold a Key, so they can't become a New God. Bit iffy on this bit though, so take it with a grain of salt.
