This is because of the men in his family who were six-feet and above, but he's never let this get him down (or he tried not to). He's always held himself with confidence and that's always been represented in how much pride he takes in his morning routine: making sure his dark hair is washed and conditioned, not to mentioned groomed to perfection, that he doesn't have any noticeable cracks in his skin. Skincare is very important to him. The same could be said about Ross' body. He takes pride in being fit and having a healthy, toned bod. With exercise and a strict diet of nothing but organic products, Ross would be proud to say he has less than 5% body fat. While he may have what most would just call a "lean body type". Technically, they aren't wrong, but there's so much more to that - so much more that goes into maintaining his figure. Typically, Ross' hair, since it's not necessarily long enough to be put into a ponytail, which is his preference, he usually combs/brushes it to the side or back. He will never let anyone see his bed hair. He'd literally die of shame. As a purest in every sense of the word, Ross has no piercings nor does he have any tattoo on his body. Additionally, he believes in absolutely no body hair which is represented in him constantly shaving every inch of his body sans the perfection that is the hair on his head so he is completely smooth all over.

S T Y L E

Much like his health, the way he dresses is also of much importance and maintenance that Ross takes great pride in. Of course, when you strip it down to the barebones, Ross's style is deeply rooted in comfort, but to him, comfort takes the form in polo shirts and single-colored buttoned-up-Ts and some kind of slacks or dress-ey pants. For summers, of course, he opts for shorts, though even those will essentially be slacks but shorter. And almost always, he pre-irons his outfit-of-the-day before putting it on. Depending on the time of day it is, he will do this the night before. The majority of his clothes, which back then were a lot less refined than they are now, he still wore blue polos and black slacks, which he occasionally swapped depending on the day (black shirts with blue slacks or non jean pants). Back then, he wore general sneakers since being in high school, but even then, they were always name brand. Actually, even now, everything he wears has a famous fashion brand attached to it.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

ECCENTRIC - Both in the way he dresses and presents himself, Ross displays a certain "extraness" that generates an air of bizarre, over-the-top optimism to which he has never been shy about putting out on the forefront in his day-to-day life. He has never apologized nor ever felt the need to make excuses. He can be overdramatic, which tends to be more comical than its usual annoying counterpart, in his eccentric demeanor is also a child-like curiosity that presents an innate innocence and desire to do the right thing.
OPINIONATED - Ross likes to think he's right and most of everyone is wrong. Or at least, sometimes that's how he can come across. He has a lot to say about a myriad of topics and issues, as well as situations and things that happen before him. He isn't shy in expressing his opinion. Sometimes what's on his mind could improve a situation, but more often than not, his passive-aggressive stances on things stem from his disapproval over how situations develop, or even something as simple as being off-schedule.
IDEALISTIC - Ross has always championed for sticking to your guns while also aiming for the stratosphere. With confidence as high as far as the universe will take him, Ross has never, not even once in his life thought he couldn't achieve anything. Despite his strong opinions and despite how bizarre he might act, Ross always believed that he could achieve anything if he set his mind to it. The hardships in his early childhood opened his eyes that sometimes being different wasn't a bad thing. He knows who he is and he likes the person he is. It doesn't matter to him if not everyone agrees, at least not anymore.

F A C T S

From an early age, doctors diagnosed Hiroshi Takahashi OCD as well as general anxiety disorders. It resulted in a lot of difficulties growing not just for him, but for his parents who had to make adjustments to their routines and how they raised him. It took a few years, but eventually, he managed it with interests that made sense for his condition and medication, which as one might surmise, exercise and nutrition became an important aspect of his life. So much so that he began taking it seriously since he was nine years old. This persisted well into his teen years where he took an active approach to his health by keeping himself busy with sports. He found comfort in Track and Field, which was ideal because he didn't need to bulk up and he could keep himself at that same body type he has always preferred.
The Angel Grove Youth Center had always been the place he could go where he knew he wouldn't feel judged and for as long as he could (aka until he graduated high school), Ross spent most of his time there, helping out when he could and doing whatever they needed him to. When he was younger, the older kids helped him through some dark times and he did the same when he himself was an older kid, helping kids become confident in themselves, encouraging them to follow their passions, and to not be ashamed because they were a little different.
After high school, Ross got accepted into UCLA. He majored in Exercise Science and FItness/Health Management. He holds a BA from UCLA for both majors. Currently, he is working on getting his masters, but a personal tragedy has brought Ross back to Angel Grove. He's been back for a few months now and to make a living, he works at the Angel Grove Youth Center as a fitness instructor.

R A N G E R

Why is Ross a good fit with the Rangers? Because Ross knows what it's like when a bully tries to pick on someone weaker than them. Because he always wants to do the right thing and if there is anything in his power that can help someone else, Ross is the kind of person who wouldn't think twice about jumping into action. He doesn't see himself as a mentor per se, but he grew up with adversity due to his anxiety and OCD. Being targeted for being different was a regular source of torment for him for a number of years. Until he realized that wasn't a bad thing, until there was someone who made him see that it was okay to be different, he wouldn't have become the confident young man he is now. And if he can be that for someone as a Ranger, well that would be pretty fantastic.
