Hopefully it all checks out, looking forward to seeing this take off
Name: Jonathan Kent Hero Name: The Guardian, New Superman Known Alias: The Defender of Tomorrow Age: 23 Powers:
Krpytonian Physiology: Due to his kryptonian heritage Jon has inherited superhuman agility, stamina, hearing and sight that surpasses any regular human. Such abilities however come at a cost as Jon requires a yellow sun's rays to "recharge" and his abilities such as enhanced sight and hearing require concentration to "filter out" unnecessary stimuli. Solar absorption: Due to his kryptonian heritage Jon is capable of absorbing the yellow sun's radiation often to either recover from injuries or to "super charge" his abilities. Superhuman strength/durability: While not quite as strong as his father, Jon is already incredibly powerful despite his limits still being unknown to him. Even though he holds himself back to prevent collateral damage, Jon is capable of overpowering any regular human with a fraction of his strength. Superhuman speed: While also not capable of flying as fast as his father, Jon is still capable of reaching the upper atmosphere with relative ease as well as hypersonic flight. Heat Vision: A recently discovered gift, Jon lacks the precision and power his father has and thus often uses this ability in a controlled environment. When unleashed however, Jon's heat vision is a powerful destructive weapon that can harm friends and foes alike.
Equipment: S.H.I.E.L.D's modern attempt to mimic Superman's appearance has resulted in Jon having an armored appearance that resembles the current Man of Steel. The armor is resilient enough to clothe the young Kryptonian when he achieves hypersonic flight through the atmosphere while also providing protection from most hostile opponents. In conclusion while Jon's natural physiology is not hindered by the armor, the armor was designed just not for protective purposes but help amplify the image of the government abiding hero. Appearance:

Known Affiliations:
S.H.I.E.L.D: Exiled from a regular human life, Jon commits himself to S.H.I.E.L.D. believing that serving mankind as it's protector is a destiny he could no longer ignore. While Jon's father believed it was best to serve mankind as an neutral, political free entity, Jon believes that a more active involvement in the government would best serve to combat the various growing threats around the planet. Notable individuals such as Director Nick Fury and Agent Philip Coulson serve as Jon's closest relationships within the S.H.I.E.L.D agency. Superman: After revealing a glimpse of his abilities, Jon is now exiled from the normal life Clark hoped his son would have. While Clark worries that his son may have affiliated himself with something he does not truly understand, Clark will always come to his son's defense should he need it but as all parents have to do one day, Clark has resigned himself to letting Jon be his own man. Damian Wayne/Batman: Once close friends, Jon and Damian have drifted apart each with different ambitions. Damian was groomed to be a successor, a possible heir replacement to the fabled Batman of Gotham while Clark ideally preferred Jon to grow as a "regular" child and remain a nonfactor in a world flooded with super human factors. Yet Bruce Wayne's warnings that such a life would be impossible eluded Clark for a time until Jon's football incident. While Jon worked as his father's successor at a time, Jon has committed himself to the S.H.I.E.L.D government agency, working as an active "soldier" for the government thus fracturing a relationship between himself, his father and even Damian. With "Batman" currently under siege from a multitude of enemies, Jon's affiliations remain with a government agency that would rather see the Bat disappear for good or hunted down lest the cowl wearing vigilante rises back up to embarrass the world's governments once more.

Lex Luthor: Clark Kent's greatest nemesis and perhaps humanity's brightest. Lex Luthor represents all the greatness that humanity can produce but also represents all of it's greed, ruthlessness and arrogance. Lex Luthor throughout the years has been Superman's biggest critic and time after time has attempted to undermine and expose the Man of Steel using his near infinite resources, knowledge and adaptability. Despite being relatively untouchable by the world government due to Lex's contributions to technological and medical advances, few know the type of man Lex truly is. While Lex Luthor has laid low in recent memory, Lex's attention has started drifting towards the younger and more "new" Superman believing that all Kryptonians are an obstacle in his path for global domination. Bruno Mannheim & Intergang: A nationwide criminal organization that bases it's main operations out of Metropolis. Led by crime lord Bruno Mannheim, Intergang has solidified its status as one of the top criminal organizations in the entire world having dabbled in all sorts criminal activities such as illegal gambling, prostitution, weapons manufacturing etc. Due to the current US government primarily focusing on the rise of the meta-humans and their sort, Bruno works to expand his gang's influence and has begun working on deals with Lex Luthor and the resurgence of the mysterious Hydra organization. Shane Reynolds: A former high school all American linebacker, Shane Reynolds was considered the top high school player in the nation behind only none other than Jonathan Kent. Shane Reynolds despised Jonathan ever since they first played against each other their freshmen year. While Jonathan was always calm and composed, Shane was wild and ferocious and was motivated to put fear into every player he played against. However Shane's dreams have been utterly crushed. In his last high school game before playing for an esteemed top college football program, Shane was the victim of Jon giving in to his temper for a moment. This brief lapse in judgement has left Shane paralyzed from the neck down. With his football career gone, Shane has become depressed and an alcoholic. Lacking the will to live, Shane hit rock bottom and contemplated ending his existence until one day he was approached by an individual who offered him not only a chance to regain the use of his body, but to also extract revenge against the individual who took everything from him.
Canon or OC: Canon List of Reimagined traits: Basically an attempt at portraying an older Superboy who has drifted apart from his father by immersing himself in a government agency. Due to differences in ideologies and how Jon grew up, my character is more of a soldier as opposed to his "boy scout" father. Influences primarily come from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns in which Superman is a government asset considering his private life as Clark Kent is ruined. Story Overview: Superman, widely praised as the World's Greatest Superhero had finally settled down with Lois Lane. Despite numerous trials and tribulations, Clark Kent's secret remained intact and the Man of Steel finally felt comfortable in his position as the world's most renowned savior to raise a family. The great lineage of Krypton live on in Jonathan Kent who was born in the prime of his father's super hero career, a time of change and government intervention. Unlike his father who was raised in the quiet and rural town of Smallville, Jonathan or Jon for short grew up in the fast and hectic lifestyle in the suburbs just outside of Metropolis. Growing up as the hidden son of a superhero and a news reporter had it's perks but ultimately the burden of raising the child mostly went to Lois. Clark for all intents and purposes was a good family man but his obligations went beyond family and Clark felt responsible to address the various world issues that consistently showed up in a world populated with heroes, villains, mutants and manipulative government agencies. Jon was an easy child to raise at first but it became quickly evident that the young hybrid child had inherited his father's gifts. At first Lois assumed it was just random curiosity but upon careful observation Lois noticed that Jon was quickly learning about the world around him. The noises, the sights that Lois would never see due to her human limitations were being observed by a child who despite lacking any sort of proper sentience was naturally attempting to focus his senses on the near infinite stimuli all around him. Jon's continued progress became more evident when he started going to school. To avoid unwanted attention and to keep the secret of their union, Clark and Lois opted to raise Jon as any regular child and purposely avoided reaching out to Charles Xavier who likely was more than willing to help someone of Jon's particular nature. As expected though, Jon unintentionally stood out from his peers. School was easy, too easy. The kyrptonian hybrid was absorbing the school material easily and despite teachers attempts to challenge him, Jon would find the answer each time. While his teachers praised Jon as a natural genius, Lois and Clark insisted that Jon should not be given any special treatment or progress towards "child prodigy" classes. The next steps in Jon's development came with sports. Clark who never got to fulfil his childhood dreams of playing sports due to his adoptive earth parents caution, permitted Jon to play whatever he wanted, provided he kept his grades high of course. At first the physical traits seemed ordinary but just like his proficiency in school, Jon rapidly began showcasing physical superiority among his peers. Hand eye coordination, catching, throwing, stamina... while such skills were often foreign to your regular elementary school child, Jon was developing in a manner that was raising many questions and wandering eyes. Then the teenage years happened. Jon knew he was different and began to "hold himself back" to avoid the mistreatment of kids who would label him a freak... after all Jon's curiosity on world events led him to discover that the world was full of "strange" children like himself. It was then Jon noticed his father's random and irregular absences in his life. There was missed holidays, birthdays, school events where dad wasn't around prompting Jon to finally ask "Why?" It was a risk, but Clark and Lois could not ignore their son's curiosity and sooner or later the truth was going to come out. "I'm Superman." Clark would eventually admit on Jon's 13th birthday. Despite the initial shock, Jon actually took it well. From that point on it felt like a burden had been lifted for it explained all the strange feelings and occurings the young teenager was experiencing and Jon felt at ease knowing that his physiology, his "strange gifts" were the result of his parents union. However the knowledge came with a warning..."You need to be careful. For your safety and your mothers. Your potential is limitless, who knows what you can become... but that means if people know, people will come for you and not all of them good." It was a stern warning and a harsh reality but a necessary one and something Jon understood. High School went well for the most part. Jon managed to find a perfect balance as a student and athlete. Jon "limited" himself so that he was a respectable honors student but didn't "over do it" in respect for his other class mates. In terms of athletics, while Jon shined in every sport he participated in, he also made sure to limit his true capabilities to avoid unnecessary suspicion. It was only in isolation and away from prying eyes that Jon secretly pushed the boundaries of his talents and every year he grew older he continued to become stronger, faster, more alien. Jon's talents however made him quite the popular student and his desires to test the boundaries of his growing powers conflicted with his attempts to "fit in". It was here in Jon's senior year of high school did Jon's world change forever. Because of his talents, Jon found himself as the super star varsity quarterback with high profile division one colleges looking to recruit him to their esteemed universities. But this fame unintentionally made Jon the object of jealously from rival high schools and the taunts and social media attacks began to slowly bug the young teenager who knew he was capable of shutting up his opposition but didn't do it out of principle. Unfortunately for another highly prized high school recruit, Jon gave in... just a bit. In a particularly heated playoff game that was filled with trash talking and personal attacks, Jon found himself in a team brawl that resulted in a permanent injury to another athlete, loss of scholarships and Jon's expulsion from school. The poor boy who had a future of endless possibilities was shattered leaving the boy devastated and uncertain in his future. In an attempt to provide guidance in his son's life, Clark offered his son an opportunity to work along side him, to use their powers for good...to help change the world by helping those who could not help themselves. For a time life was good, Jon found purpose and enjoyment in spending time with his father as well as finding pride in the good work that he was doing. These adventures even included several collaborations with the infamous Bat family. Yet Jon was not his father and Jon's fate in the world did not match his father's. Soon there was moral debates and disputes between father and son and while Jon had grown strong and proud he developed a more direct and violent view on life. While Clark learned to harden his feelings, Jon was more sensitive, more emotionally vulnerable and after witnessing several tragedies from various entities could no longer agree with their "soft" approach. After another emotional dispute, Jon found himself approached by a suited man who recruited him in the government organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. It was here that the man who identified himself as Agent Coulson, pitched to Jon that his father's world was different from his and that the world needed someone of his caliber to truly make a difference. After a moment of hesitation, Jon agreed. Free from his father's supervision, Jon fully invested himself into his career as a working asset for S.H.I.E.L.D. Unlike his father who tried to live a double life as a news reporter at the Daily Planet with his wife Lois, Jon had nothing else but his new occupation. Within weeks of joining the government agency, Jon was given permission to run missions and to nobody's surprise was incredibly effective. Jon's first few operations consisted of counter terrorism and hostage rescue. Considering the circumstances, Jon no longer constrained himself in the manner of his father and conducted himself as efficient and deadly soldier who was impervious to the terrorist's conventional weaponry. Much to his father's disappointment, Jon had no qualms about eliminating the targets he was sent to deal with. As Jon's mission accomplishments grew, so did his abilities and it wasn't long till Jon was given the all clear to engage and deal with the likes of meta humans and rogue individuals of exceptional abilities. Jon's successes made him quite popular with the media and was dubbed "New Superman", a hero that that was willing to conduct the missions that the original Superman was not. This of course grew a wedge between Jon and his parents and soon contact between parent and child became limited. While S.H.I.E.L.D found themselves an asset that can be used against other super human individuals, the public became divided. Many were supportive of a super hero who answered to the world's governments to deal with threats that conventionally weapons could not while many feared the possibility that this "New Superman" was too good at his job and the reality that if Jon were too ever turn rogue the consequences could be catastrophic... Sample Post:
"BLUE 80! BlUE 80!" Jon's voice projected across the field, his cadence echoing in the ears of his fellow team mates who were spread out along the green turf field. "52 is Mike!" Jon called out as he pointed at a giant of a teeanger who took several steps forward, barking commands of his own to his own team mates. Jon took a small breath, the game was close 42-48 in the 4th quarter and Central Metropolis Highschool was losing. "52 is Mike!" Jon's commanding voice rang out again, the esteemed varsity quarterback wanted to make sure that the five teenage giants before him who were tasked with defending him understood who was the incoming blitzing linebacker that would come after the vaunted defensive line. Jon took a glance to his right, and than his left... his team mates were exhausted. The game was within reach but Jon was starting to doubt just how much longer his team mates can keep pushing. The team high schools were vicious rivals and the bright stadium lights beamed down on the 22 teenage boys who fought tooth and nail to provide entertainment for the several thousands in attendance. "Better snap the ball Kent! clock's ticking!" Jon's attention was brought back to the opposing player who bore the number 52. The heckler of course was none other than Shane Reynolds, an absolute giant. Shane was at least 6'5 with a muscular frame that topped in the 250s. Shane was destined to play football and Shane had continued to wreck havoc all game on the Metropolis offense. The play clock was ticking. "Ready... go!" Jon shouted as he received the football from under his center as the quarterback took several steps back. From here everything moved in slow motion, and Jon was alone in his thoughts as he processed the slow chaos around him. Jon first looked right... no point, his receiver had barely gotten off the line, too exhausted to run his route properly. Jon then looked left and could see his receiver having a step on the opposing corner but there was another safety baiting him to make the pass. "I could fit through that window." Jon assured himself but such a throw would have required him to rifled it the air and it would have been uncatchable for his human team mate. The pocket was collapsing and Jon could feel Shane's presence rapidly approaching. With a quick step, Jon avoided an incoming defensive lineman and exploded out of the pocket racing towards the first down marker. "They're slow. Too slow" Jon reminded himself as it required more concentration to ensure he didn't break his "human" façade then it was to avoid the opposing team. Jon could have easily ran himself into the end zone but he could feel his mother's eyes watching him from the stands, quietly pleading to not do anything too obvious. A first down would have to do. Jon ran towards the sidelines, past the first down marker and the play clock halted just as several rival players struggled to catch up from behind. "And with that first down that marks Jonathan Kent's 150th rushing yard for the day to go along with 450 yards passing through the air. A super human performance from Central Metropolis varsity quarterback!" Jon looked around trying to gauge the feel of the game again but his ears were bombarded with the various praises, whispers, insults instructions from everyone in the stadium and it took a concentrated effort to process all the noise he was receiving at once. "Focus." Jon urged himself. "HEY KENT! clock's ticking boy! you're running out of time!" Shane's voice had a way of standing out more than the others. Jon eyed the opposing linebacker, staring him down as the giant jeered at him through his helmet. This game was the culmination of months of trash talking and social media taunts. The two had played each other before but never with the circumstances this high and with scouts and family members in attendance, tensions were rising high. This would be the last time these two rivals would play against one another and both players were vying to settle the socre. "20 seconds left and Central Metropolis is within striking distance of the end zone. They need a miracle to pull this one off and all eyes are on Jonathan Kent who is single handily willing his team to victory here today!" "I have to say Rob, this has been one of the most heroic football performances I have ever seen! It would be a tragic ending for Central Metropolis to lose today... 15 seconds left, Jon is barking commands at his team, Shane Reynolds of Gotham doing the same...10 seconds! Jon takes the ball, he's looking downfield... nobody is open! Jon takes off! He's at the 10 yard line! #30 of Gotham High goes for the low tackle but Jon leaps over the diving defender! Jon is at the 5, Shane in pursuit and!... Touchdown! Touchdown! Jonathan Kent wins the game at the buzzer! What a run!... Well look at this! Jon and Shane are getting into it as the teams are racing over to separate the two and... Oh my! Jon just pushed Shane through the air like he was weightless oh my what a fall and Shane is not getting up! I think he hit his head... and oh boy and here we go, the two teams are duking it out in the end zone... what a ugly ending to an otherwise great game..."
