Chas put the pizza boxes down and opened them both up, so they could all help themselves to what they wanted, looking at how Serena was being as she sat down next to Kay after John moved. He shook his head at John's assumption, "I don't think it is just shock but I don't know what exactly, so I think just monitor her for the time being and see what else happens or if she shows any other signs of whatever and go from there. But I'm no doctor so unless Serena knows exactly what is going on with her, we not got anything much to go on to help her. I just hope not much else happens with the girls as a lot has happened in such a short time. They deserve a break" he replied quietly. Unlike Serena, Kay did indeed grab a slice of pizza, being careful not to let any topping fall on John's old books. She was enough of an avid reader to know that these books were priceless and she guessed that some books in this house probably weren't even made out of things like paper and leather. She continued to read, keeping the book balanced on the arm rest slightly at an angle so she could eat and read withoug risking ruining the book, eating as she read. The moment the pizza hit the inside of her mouth, she had to pause her reading as she closed her eyes and tried hard to refrain from making some undignified noise of satisfaction. She couldn't remember the last time she ate pizza and this one was particularly good. She didn't like to make it obvious how it had been so long since she had proper food, but it felt like whenever she ate in this house, it reminded her of that very fact. As she re-open her eyes to continue reading, she found herself being reminded of not just her eating history, but also the fact she did suffer a head injury not that long ago and her vision was blurring slightly from so much reading. So she did all she could do in this moment and take a break, solely focusing on eating.
