“Arn…” The softest whisper escaped her lips as she opened her light brown eyes speckled with the lightest hints of green gazed at him with sorrow and pain. Those same lips trembled as the fingers of her right hand reached out to touch his arm. “I’m sorry…” Guilt and pain washed over her, the horrible memories flashing back in her mind and hoping despite it all she had not forever lost her only true friend and protector through it all. “I…hope I still…will you forgive me?” Her voice was barely audible and her expression seemed more broken and haunted then before as she carefully rose to a sitting position on the bed. “I…I know I am probably past that point, having squandered your good will.” She started. “And I would understand that you would want to send me away after all of that…but for my own heart sake I must ask. Will you forgive me?” Her hands trembled trying to still them as she cast her eyes down in shame. The dread and remorse were etched into her face and in her words. She seemed to hold her breath to await his answer. Whether he would condemn her or whether despite all her fears he still regarded her with some affection. She needed to know. Arn might not know it, but to her he was her rising Sun. Would he remain at her side being the one benevolent and kind consistency or had ‘her Sun’ now forsaken her too, setting and condemning her to dwell in the ever dark night without any of its radiance to light and guide her?
