Parts of what they said made sense, but other pieces just seemed like excuses. Or even worse, weakness. At least, that was his first instinct. The leaf did seem to often have weakened attitudes, yet the Mist had before always considered them a strong enemy and opponents. It didn't make sense. The boy pondered about what Taka had said about allies and enemies, finding out who was who. It seemed more complicated than he liked but he supposed that knowing who was truly an enemy would be useful information to learn how to gather. However, even if someone unwilling was forced to show themselves as a threat, he wouldn't show them mercy. It would be regrettable, but ultimately it would be their life, or his own. Rashiku wasn't willing to make that trade. With the instructions from Takayuki to leave, and later return for private conversations, Rashiku had mixed feelings as he turned towards the door. Overall he'd felt irritated, but it was giving way to other thoughts that were distracting him. "C'mon guys, ya coming?" Akira directed towards them, and in his distracted state, Rashiku snapped an answer at him much more harshly than he intended. "No Akira. I won't go with you." As soon as he'd said it, his irritated expression dropped to a more neutral state. Even with the Leaf folk seeming more sensitive in general, such words would have been equally rude where he'd been from. The boy spoke again right after, much more softly this time, the harshness gone from his voice. "Um... This time. I meant. I will later." With a small pause, Rashiku turned towards Ami instead, revealing, at least partially, what had occupied his thoughts for the last moments. "Ami-san... We must talk. Come have lunch with me." Despite the words themselves sounding like a demand, his tone was much more in the vein of a request.
