The magical community having removed itself from the 'mortal' world centuries prior. He never aimed to become a hero, or move into the public eye however the fates have strange plans that cannot be anticipated. While travelling through Central City Conor and his family were targetted by the villain Abra Kadabra due to their actual magical ability, Kadabra recognising Conor due to his future self. In a fit of self-fulfilling prophecies, it was Kadabras action, forcing Conor to publicly use his magic to defend himself. Breaking his families and his peoples highest laws, it was through tearful eyes that his parents left him behind with all the money they could spare in this foreign and unknown land, aged only sixteen. He drifted for a while using what little money he had, spending his time furthering his magical abilities as much he could forming several safe havens and safe spots in his travels, doing good wherever he could. It was during his escapades as a 'hero' that Conor came onto the Renegades radar. Having a network of traps/tricks set up he used his runes to prevent several muggings before receiving the invitation. On the sly he has been doing his best to interact with the magical community in America, runes being a more unique form of magic (especially in the US) he occasionally assists with magical problems within the sorceror community.

[SUP][SUB]
A B I L I T I E S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

His non-magical abilities are severely limited. He had no real schooling. Magic of the Runes: So his magic comes from runes rather than spoken incantations or spells. He imbues these runes with his magic, drawing them as carefully as possible (an incorrectly drawn rune is either useless or potentially dangerous), they remain inactive until certain conditions are met, such as being touched, a certain person touching them, someone being in proximity etc. Object Runes: Not useful in a pinch these runes can be used to move objects telekinetically, create electric charges, explosions or change the temperature in a space. He is currently working on a binding rune that would hold a person within a certain space making it so they would be unable to move. Personal Runes: Invisible tattoos cover his body, allowing him to increase his strength/speed, heal himself or even throw bolts of energy. These runes are highly taxing for him to use, and if damaged incredibly hard to replace. He can also be stopped from using them by anything that prevents him from touching them to activate them. His most powerful rune is on the palm of his left hand, with a couple touched in combination a shield extends from the palm of his hand able to block attacks. He has grown rather attached to a staff he carries that is imbued with the power to throw bolts of fire at his enemies. Weaknesses: While so long as he continues his studies his power can increase, any rune that draws energy from him leaves him drained after a prolonged fight (The same as physical exertion for a normal human). In terms of runes that draw from the environment, the weakness is that he can't produce them on the fly (simple runes take up to an hour to prepare, more complex one hours) and he needs utmost concentration. Unless he writes them to specifically only allow him to use them, so long as someone knows what they're doing they can also be used against him.

[SUP][SUB]
C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

My motivation to playing this character is I always had a soft spot for magic, and the stories that can be told in the various magical mythos and I like how DC does it's magic and the various different systems it uses so I really want to play in that wheelhouse with a little twist in there. I really wanted to focus on someone who has the power to be useful, reasonably powerful but also limited. Even if he learns loads of new runes and has them all over his body, you bind him so he can't touch them and he's just a regular kid. Conors lost right now. Conors life was never going to be anything special, he was going to live it out in the quiet Irish Countryside, marry someone else from the magical community and essentially live out a boring old existence. Abra Kadabra messed that up, and now he doesn't know what he's going to do. While he has always had the drive to do good until recently he's never really seen his magic as a tool to do that. Now he wants to hone his craft and use it to show the world that not only does magic exist, but it can be a force for good. Maybe then, will his family and his people realise that they don't need to hide anymore and more importantly. Allow him to return home.

[SUP][SUB]
C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

This section will be added too as time goes on. In terms of secret identity, Conor doesn't really have any, considering his family are in Ireland and abandoned him. Being part of a reclusive/self-isolating community also helps the fact that he isn't really missed except by those who deem him an exile. At the edge of the city Conor has taken over a public storage unit which acts as his personal 'library' filled with any magical objects/scrolls/books that he can find. Objects:

Necklace: He wears a necklace with some basic protection runes written on them, so long as he's wearing it he is 'slightly' more resistant to attacks. Nothing on the superhuman/supervillain level (atleast not for more than a few seconds). It's keyed to his biology so as long as he is wearing it it's active.
Staff: His staff has a few runes running along the length off it, capable of spitting bolts of fire or if need be a stream of fire for a few seconds. Overuse will cause the runes to crack, fail and the staff be destroyed. In a fight, it tends to be his primary method of attack rather than relying on his much more draining personal runes.

[SUP][SUB]
R E L A T I O N S H I P S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

Eilidh - As the only other celt the two found a connection of mutual trust. Whenever he has the chance he's been investigating for a possible magical source to her abilities, though is yet to make much headway. He's slightly bitter that in the US she can legally drink but he can't. Selene - Selene is the only other 'traditional' sorceror on the team and as such Conor feels a certain sense of familiarity and comfort in her presence. He is somewhat jealous of how easily her magic comes to her and doesn't require the planning ahead that his school of magic does. That said she is a powerful sorcerer in her own right and on her way to becoming his friend. CeCe: Initially an annoyance in Conors life, her constant attempts at trying to get him on camera and share his likeness online caused some issues with the team as he was always trying to duck the camera, no matter what he was currently doing or where they currently were. Eventually, when she managed to capture a full-frontal portrait of him, he grabbed the phone and threw it away before he told her where she could shove it. Later that night she apologized, an act he truly apologized. Respecting her heart he confided in her that he couldn't allow his image, especially of doing magic, to become viral as then any hopes of returning home would be dashed. The two have grown to become friends since then, with her often spending time in his library. Due to her uneasiness and inability for magic he has even started to collect some non-magical material for her to read. Redmond: Redmond is a bit of an enigma. From what little Conor knows Redmond and Julians origins are somewhat, shockingly, and scarily similar. The difference is Redmond doesn't have the same level of social and intellectual maturity that Julian possesses. Conor doesn't have ill feelings towards him, but he also tries not to actively interact with him. Conor deals in precision, patience, and knowledge. He doesn't have time to be a babysitter. Julian: Julian somehow managed to track down a magic user that lived off the grid and only possesses a flip phone. The two of them took down a corrupt businessman and the wizard that he was using as muscle. Julian already planning to form the Renegades enlisted Conor. Conor seeing it as a chance to do some good, learn new skills, and maybe even gain a way back home accepted. Moving into his room and taking a section of the library with him. He has continued to work on strengthening his ties to the local magical community, gathering scrolls/books and objects as well as assisting the community, and Julian hasn't questioned him whenever he has went off on one of those escapades. The two recognize aspects of themselves in each other and have over time grown to respect each other. Though not without taking jabs at each others chosen fields of expertise. Gabi: Conor enjoys Gabi's company and finds her a bit of an enigma and a mystery wrapped all into one. Her power is derived from magic, though he can't seem to nail down the source or understand where it is. In between all the other projects he has on the go he has tried to seek out Mayan historical records of magic and sorcery. Hayden: Hayden is a bit of an enigma. Somewhere in the middle-ground between Julians fields of expertise and Conors lies the being known as Hayden. The sorcerer respects the kid, but doesn't have time to look after him or baby him. There is warmth there, but it's never there for long and he tries to keep out of the kid's way and more importantly, keep the kid out of his way. Kevin: The two can get along fine, his views change far too much for his liking but he can live with that. He doesn't trust Kevin coming into his library, be it his small one in his room and definitely not the one he has in his warehouse. As a precaution, Conor has since been working on his ice-casting. Dandelion: Dandelion or 'Dandy' is a bit of an enigma to Conor. He doesn't seem to have much interest or use in magic, and frankly, the tentacle monster leaves Conor a bit unsettled. Since the alien's arrival, he has increased his number of internal defensive wards inside their base of operations significantly and even goes as far as never removing his protective necklace if he is not in his room, with the door locked and sealed. So far the alien has seemed benevolent and helpful, and others are positive the alien will be helpful so Conor will roll with it, though he'll be prepared just in case. Vincent: Vincent and Conor have worked together for a long time now since at one point the team was just the two of them plus Julian. While the two can get along personally, professionally they just can't. Conor pours himself into his work and his studies, constantly in an effort to improve himself. Vincent just relies on his natural aptitude with no desire for training or honing his abilities. It wouldn't be much of an exaggeration to say the two of them have come to blows. Varo: Varo is an enigma for Conor. Every other type of magic he has encountered he has been able to find references to in some way or other yet Varo has none of that. Conor understands how it is to be a Sorceror that is left all by himself, with no family and no home to go back to. As such while Conor cares for all the magical members of the team he has taken a special interest in Varo, in making sure he feels comfortable and happy. He doesn't want Varo to feel the pain that he himself feels, and as such does his best to make the alien feel included. Johnny D: Johnny and Conor have lived through similar struggles, they've both been living on the streets and have a host of street smarts. Living up to the very definition of 'bro code'. There's a general uneasiness between the Scarab and Conor, that nobody truly understands. Johnny has in fact confided in him that the Scarab talks in his head, giving suggestions and advice in a variety of situations. Hana: Hana is another one Conor tries not to engage with if he doesn't need to. She's loud, brash, impatient. Bullheaded and stubborn, these aren't qualities he admires or thinks the team needs and he disagreed with Julian over him recruiting her. The two have butted heads over their respective approaches, but have occasionally found similarities in their personal life of what little they have shared with one another.
