As a side effect of his relative inexperience, Tony will occasionally teleport without meaning or intending to, often only a few inches at a time.

Tony Liu is the only child of a pair of wealthy Hong Kong natives, born on the West coast of the United States. His parents were a pair of business magnates overseas, raking in large amounts of profit through both legal and illicit means. The couple moved to America to get away from the more illicit side of their business, and as a result Tony was afforded a relatively care free childhood and spent most of it in the relative security of the upper middle class. He did well in school, and grew up well adjusted.

While getting along well with his family, as a result of them often jumping between America and Hong Kong for business, Tony grew up mostly independent of them. After highschool, Tony opted to taking on a military scholarship in lieu of his parent's money, and attended University of San Francisco. After graduation, Tony spent the next 4 years in the US Army Signal Corps.

Deciding that military life ultimately wasn't for him, Tony left the service after the service required by his scholarship had concluded. Taking his earnings and savings thus far, Tony purchased a small building in Chinatown, turning the upper loft into his personal apartment and converting the lower floors into a simple but moderately popular dive bar: The Gweilo. 

For a while, things were looking fine for Tony- until the Energy Storm incident swept through the US. Tony was among the many that caught a mysterious illness. Following his recovery, Tony was shocked to discover powers that he had developed following the incident. Unsure how to react, Tony has spent the days since pretending he doesn't have powers as much as possible, hiding the fact that he has them from even his family.
