I guess it's ironic that, even though I made the thread about novels, I totally feel more strongly on certain books based on their authors than the books themselves, so I just chose the most overhyped book I've actually picked up in which I have no strong feelings one way or the other about the author. It was a few years ago too but the dialogue that I read was just unacceptably bad when I read it.
