She is not very physically, meaning there is not much muscle on her frame, especially on her arms which are notably thin. Her skin is pale, a result of spending too much time in the labs and not enough time outside. Her eyes are a vivid green in colour and her hair is a deep black that reaches all the way down her back. Morgana doesn’t do anything to style her hair or to keep it under control, so it tends to stick out wildly the further down it goes. She has large eyes set in a round face, with a small nose and a smaller mouth that is almost permanently set in a smirk. Morgana is not one to wear much make-up or wear jewellery, but she tries to take care of her skin and it is blemish free as a result. Her clothing is often smart casual clothing that doesn’t bare much skin, consisting mostly of blouses and skirts, stockings and tall, heeled boots; all in black or dark colours. She likes to wear long coats both at and outside of work; when at work this will be a lab coat, outside of the labs she will substitute it with something of equal length. She will also, on special occasions, wear a tall and wide brimmed witch’s hat. Because it irks people. Height/Weight: 5’ 3”/121lbs Agent of the OMR: Morgana is a researcher in the OMR Department of Heretical Studies Biography: Born in northern England, Morgana is the only daughter of Angelica Faith, the current head of family whose roots run deep in the British magical community. The Faith family one of the few who can trace an unbroken line of practitioners all the way back before the witch hunts that consumed Europe hundreds of years ago; this, along with being connected to most other magical families through blood or marriage, gives then a certain level of prestige even though they have declined in wealth and power in the last century. As the next in line to take over the Faith family, Morgana began her tutelage at a young age so that she could begin to inherit all of the knowledge that her family had gained over their long history. Hopes for her were high in the beginning; she was intelligent, diligent, appeared to have good reserves of mana and showed an aptitude for the kind of thinking that was necessary for a witch to be successful. However, the longer Morgana studied magic, particularly the brand of magic her family was versed in, the more she began to ask a single question. Why? Why did things works the way they did, why did this have to be done that way? Why did willow make for a better magical conduit for women, while ash worked better for men? Why did the age of the material matter? Why do magical circles have to be drawn in chalk and not ink? Why did the phase of the moon affect the effectiveness of certain rituals? It all seems so arbitrary and nonsensical. The more questions she asked the more she found the answers unsatisfactory and the more she found the teaching of her mother and her aunts… restrictive. So she asked herself another why; if they didn’t know the answers or if they weren’t willing to entertain her questions, why was she learning from them? By the time she was a teenager, Morgana was fully into her rebellious phase. She had long ago stopped asking for answers and instead looked for her own, conducting her own research and her own experiments to figure out the answers to questions that made others uncomfortable. She drifted further and further away from the superstitious leanings of her family and extended her knowledge into all kinds of new areas. The Faith family was obviously not very happy with their scion pulling away from them in such a blatant manner, even more so when she actually found some success with her experiments; the way in which she sought to question, break down and even prove wrong the magic they had spent centuries developing was not just offensive to them it was… heretical. By the time Morgana was eighteen she was ready to leave home and her family was more than happy to see her leave. She left home to attend university in London, studying both ritualism and occultism while keeping up her own private research and after several years graduated at the top of her classes. After graduation she was scouted by the OMR and was asked to become a researcher in their Department of Heretical Studies, a somewhat tongue-in-cheek name for a department dedicated to improving the organisations knowledge of how magic truly functioned. The name appealed to her, as did the promise of research grants and the freedom to dictate her own projects should she advance in the organisation. Since joining the organisation Morgana has been the co-author on many research papers that have helped to disprove old notions of how magic worked, particularly in the areas involving external factors such as wands, staffs and ritualistic tools. She always makes sure to send her mother a copy of each paper she is involved in, when they are released to the public. Reason to be chosen for the mission: As an expert on defensive wards and apotropaic magic, it is expected that Morgana will provide extra protection for the team during their investigation. It is also hoped that her expertise as a researcher will also come in useful. All weapons and equipment must be registered: There isn’t a single piece of clothing Morgana wears that isn’t imbued with some kind of ward, apotropaic defence or magic circle. Some of these are passive until triggered, others are weak effects that she feeds mana constantly, while yet more are larger and require conscious activation to have any effect. Aside from this her equipment is fairly standard, though it does include many small items such as chalk, balls of twine and so on that are less common. Magical Abilities: Morgana has a broad knowledge base and has dabbled in many different areas of magic, but her expertise mostly lies in the areas of ritualism and magic circles. She is capable of creating and conducting rituals to achieve a variety of effects from scrying, warding, healing, sealing, protection and so on; Morgana’s research has led her to be able to do a lot, but the trade-off is that she cannot do anything as well as someone who focuses on a single thing. Depth has been traded for width. Her magic circles meanwhile, essentially small rituals themselves, act as pre-determined spells which can be activated automatically; a magic circle is etched onto an item, whether it be carved into stone or simply drawn on a piece of paper, with a pattern designed to mimic the effect or a specific spell. When mana is pushed through this circle the spell in question is cast, without a conscious effort on the caster’s part to shape the spell. This allows for faster casting than normal without the caster needing to even think about the spell itself, but the need for the circles to be created beforehand means that she is locked into whatever she thought to prepare ahead of time. Morgana is not a combat agent and her ability to perform magic under pressure is low. Should she not have the right tool for the job prepared ahead of time, she is at a disadvantage.
