Her frame is lean and somewhat muscled, likely due to the work she partakes in. Her eyes are a dark turquoise, and her hair is a naturally deep and wavy brown, reminiscent of mahogany, and is kept quite long, braided into a nice ponytail that extends past her waist. She wears a brown tunic, open at the sides, that descends to her lower thighs and wrapped with a red belt, dark brown khakis, and black, tall combat boots. Her magical focus, her prized possession and tool, is her beloved hammer-like maul. While she is capable of combat, her main priorities are to assist in the development of military equipment, buildings and technology. Reason to be chosen for the mission: Her skillset and background are useful in the field, as well as identification and understanding the capabilities of the illegal weapons. Biography:Born in the Galdhøpiggen mountain range in Norway, Asfridur is the middle child of seven, and the only girl. Her family name, Rmnaheim, was well known for their craftsmanship. Both of her parents were well known craftsmen and engineers, and often, the village, a bit of a reclusive community, would come to them to solve issues or craft devices and materials to improve their living conditions or make their work more efficient. As the only girl Astfridur found herself avoiding the curse of the middle child and instead found herself spoiled rotten, to her older sibling’s chagrin. Her father constantly doted on her, and anything her brothers did to her that she, or he, found unpleasant, would result in a scolding or thrashing for them. If her brothers were going out, they’d be forced to take her with them, souring their relationship as children a little. It didn’t help that she was particularly rambunctious and rowdy, loving to wrestle, even more than they did, and often getting lost, making the four of them late for dinners or lessons. Her fiery personality was the ire of her older siblings, to the point they’d fight a lot. As she grew older and neared the completion of her education, she met her true love: Metallurgy. Nothing sung to her like metals did. Almost literally, it was as if minerals and metals had a voice, they had a special relationship. Through exploring this, she found her ability to not only communicate, but magically manipulate minerals and ores, pushing her to fully dive into metallurgy. She found herself captivated whenever she saw her father working with metals, and would constantly harass him into explaining everything he knew about the materials, their properties, how to harness their potential, and what they were best used for. Her father was all too happy to oblige, but an unexpected outcome of his teachings was that by satisfying her natural curiosity, he was nurturing her adventurous spirit. The more she learned about minerals and alloys, the more she learned about the world, and the more she realized how little she’d seen of it. By the time she was eighteen, she’d made her mind up. She was going to attend university in Oslo and further her education, but just as importantly, she was going to travel. The decision did not go over well with her family. While the decision was accepted, it was far from encouraged, and caused a lot of tension between herself and her family. She left within two weeks of telling them her decision, without so much as a goodbye. She attended the University of Oslo immediately, and after graduating, found herself working for the OMR, where she's been for more than five years. All weapons and equipment must be registered: Magical Abilities and skills: Stone Sorcery: Being a semi-practical person, Astfridur uses her magic as such. She channels her magic largely through her maul when in combat, loving the surface area and power the weight and size of the thing gives her (also it just looks bad-ass). She’s capable of manipulating stones, mineral and, essentially the earth through her magic, so long as she’s capable of making contact with it, either through a medium or on her own. Athleticism: Don’t let her short stature fool ya, Astfridur is quite strong, capable of lifting far more than her bodyweight. Don’t let her punch you, it’s going to hurt. She’s also pretty fast, despite her short legs, and her stamina is pretty high as well. Metallurgy: Though she’s a bit of a hard-headed, hot-headed brawler, she’s not an idiot. Not only does she have a special relationship with minerals and ores, but she’s more than knowledgeable about what they are and what they can do. Crystallography, characterization and mechanical metallurgy are her specialties. Likes: Stones, dirt, metal. The whole shebang. Working, particularly with her hands. Scientific studies Alcohol, particularly a good brew Animals (especially cats, she loves cats to death) Rough housing Dislikes: Sitting on her hands and doing nothing. Vegetables. Sexual Preference: Pansexual Miscallenous Facts: She can speak Norwegian and English, but also Swedish and Danish. She claims to be fearless, but is afraid of large bodies of water (she can't swim), and subsequently, anything inside of them.
