[indent] Aegis’ Quirk allows him to surround himself in an invisible barrier of energy which both acts as a forcefield and to serves to enhance his physical abilities; while this barrier is active he is both highly resistant to damage, though not invulnerable, and much stronger than he is without it. By default his barrier shapes itself to fit the shape of his body, with enough breathing room that it also covers his clothing as long as it isn’t loose fitting; however, Aegis can control the form of the barrier to an extent, even expand it so it can be used to shield other people or to attack.[/indent]
[indent]The strength of Aegis’ Quirk is linked to his ego, rising and falling in relation to his current mental state; in other words, the more confident and sure of himself Aegis feels the stronger he is. In theory this means that if he ever loses faith in himself his Quirk will become weaker as a result. However, for better or for worse, Aegis’ personality is such that this has never happened.[/indent]

[sub][b]𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧[/b][/sub]
[indent]Aegis, real name Dietrich Konig, is destined to be the greatest hero ever to come out of Eirei; or so he believes. To hear Dietrich tell it himself he is fearless in the face of danger, courageous in the heat of battle, gallant in the presence of evil, admired by those around him and feared by his enemies. He is ruthless in how he deals with villains, not pulling his punches even if he is far stronger than them, is glad to help out his fellow heroes, especially since most of them need it, and is more than happy to put on a show for civilians, whether that be signing autographs and taking pictures or showboating during a fight. [/indent]
[indent]He is also, if you haven’t noticed, a little full of himself.[/indent]
[indent]Ever since Dietrich’s Quirk appeared he has been praised by those around him, surrounded by those who told him he was meant for great things and that he would make a great hero one day. This has, unfortunately, given him quite the unfortunate ego and a little bit of a god complex on top of it.[/indent]

[sub][b]𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝[/b][/sub]
[indent]When Dietrich’s Quirk first appeared, nobody thought much of it; the ability to create a barrier was nothing special and since neither of his parents had particularly strong abilities it was expected that his Quirk would plateau at a young age. However, as he grew older his strength kept increasing, far eclipsing that of his peers, and Dietrich’s potential was brought to the attention of some very important people. He was scouted to attend a special school in Berlin, a kind of preparatory school for young heroes, leaving behind his home in Strausberg, Germany to go there. [/indent]
[indent]He was excited at first; for the first time in years he met people who could keep up with him, but even among those promising young heroes there was no one who could keep up with his growth. Over time he began to overtake them all. His parents, the teachers, even the other students began to say he would be the strongest hero in Germany one day, maybe even all of Europe. Dietrich acknowledged all of the praise, accepted it as fact, and his powers continued to grow.[/indent]
[indent]Even someone like Dietrich wanted a challenge however. With how strong he was he started to chafe under the confines of the special school, surrounded by peers who could no longer push him. He was bored. Then he heard about Eirei Academy.[/indent]
[indent]Rather than staying in Germany, staying in the same school with the same classmates
Dietrich decided to enrol himself at an internationally recognised academy from a country renowned for its strong heroes and villains latter in the hopes of finding a challenge.[/indent]
