She wasn't dirt poor stuck being raised in the favelas, but she was far from having a cushioned life. Both her parents worked multiple jobs, and quite often, it was up to Michele's two older brothers to look out for her. Despite the fact that both her siblings did the best they could, Michele had to practically raise herself. Aside from doing an insane amount of chores around the house, Michele also stayed busy by playing the keyboard. It was a piano gifted to her parents by her grandmother, and it sat unused, collecting dust in one of the spare rooms of their home, so naturally, Michele would sit for long periods of time and play. Her hobby turned into her passion. Michele excelled in school, and when it was time to go to university, she decided to pursue an education in music as well as English. Unfortunately for the young girl, her father got sick. As a result, she had to take on more responsibilities than she could handle and she felt it appropriate to quit going to school full-time. She was teaching piano on the side, and in order to help her family out financially, Michele kept her gig. Soon after that, her oldest brother's marriage fell apart and Michele sought to help him out as well. Her sister-in-law had left him and their 2 kids, and he practically begged her to provide some sort of help. Needless to say, her early 20s was spent mostly helping out her family with little to no time for herself. But relief did come, with time, and Michele figured she needed a major change of pace. When her cousin from California called, it didn’t take much to convince Michele to move there. She could teach, perfect her English, and maybe make a life for herself there. The Energy Storm hit long after Michele had settled. She didn’t know what to make of her new ability at first, but she didn’t have to wonder for long. [/hider]
