Biography

Niles Sinclair isn't the easiest to read, even if presently, he makes the earnest attempt to show his emotion on his face. It took most of high school for him to learn how to smile. In grade school, he looked more innocent, he was kind and outgoing. He was a joy to be around because all he needed to do was exist and take care of his little sisters, while his parents worked to keep Edenridge safe, in their own way. Most of his childhood was simple because he spent most of his days with the Belmonte family, who kind of were his babysitters and second family. His parents were deep in their medical pursuit, drowning in schooling and work, and somehow, even within all the chaos they still found time for the family. Sunday night dinner is a cherished time for the Sinclair family. After his mother passed, when he was eleven, he changed for the worst. Niles closed up and started looking more mature facially and unwelcomingly serious. He became bit of a sarcastic asshole and kind of rude. His mother passing, as abrupt and unwanted as it was, will always be a turning point for him. Niles Sinclair would never be the same again. Expecting him to revert to his timid, amicable, and kind self was only asking for him to disdain you. He didn't want anyone to know what he was thinking, he didn't want real friendships, and he didn't want to risk losing more people he cared about, so he made sure to always have a straight face. Only rarely would he laugh and when he did it was lively and warm. The boy that entered high school, while small and still waiting for his growth spurt, came across as harsh and hard to talk to, with extremely pessimistic views of himself. Even with all that said, deep down, his kindness was still there, he just purposely covered it up with apathy. At some point that trait became part of him, no longer an act, just as all the other Sinclair values were still part of who he was as an everchanging person. His lack of care for himself and his future was now something he would struggle with from this point on. Without his mom, what was the point? In junior year, "tiny" Niles began growing and his peers began to notice the changes in him. Even with this newfound attention, which he wasn't used to since he was the kid that purposely got into fights as an underclassmen, he was deteriorating mentally. Going back to his underclassmen years, people had long forgotten how Noella Sinclair passed, when Niles was in sixth grade, so they would spread rumors that his mother abandoned him. He didn't care if he fought people twice his size and lost terribly, he hated people. Returning back to junior year, on top of him getting taller and more handsome, his friendships were testing him, his grief was peaking because graduation was just around the corner, he experienced something that only one other person knows about, and he felt like rock bottom was just around the corner because he no longer had his best friend, Natalia Belmonte, as a distraction. Unbeknownst to anyone but the Sinclair family, Niles nearly committed suicide, shortly after the fire incident with Amanda and Aaron, having purposely walked in front of car. The only witness being the driver, who survived. His father was quick to pay said person off to keep that under wraps because there was no need for rumors. He didn't need people thinking his son felt guilty for the fire which he had nothing to do with nor did he want people to think the Sinclair family was weak, since his only blood child almost gave up on living. Thankfully, Niles' injuries weren't as severe as it could've been. He was in the hospital for a week, Hector Sinclair lying and saying his son got in a fight with the wrong people (easy to pinpoint that to gang violence), using Niles detention track record against him, so that people wouldn't look too deeply into the arm cast and crutches (for his sprained ankle). When Niles returned, the amount of sympathy he received was comical because people would rather focus on him than the fire, which was so last week's news. Time healed his wounds, as well as therapy, which he hasn't told anyone about (kind of ashamed about it). He only did it so his family wouldn't worry about him. By the first day of senior year, Niles was finding his new normal and while he still struggled to let his mother go, he had enough time to reflect on junior year to come to terms that she didn't want him dead. That is until his back was met with a gun at the entrance of the library. Niles was returning overdue books, that his sisters hoarded in their rooms, and here he was, on the verge of dying. Again. This was his second turning point. Charlie Decker, someone he had moments with, and in an odd way considered a friend even if they only hung out randomly and not in the public eye, had fallen deeper than Niles had ever. Was it even possible for Niles to descend this far? To lose all control of reality and take it out on the world? After a short exchange, Charlie told Niles to run. In this moment, Niles realized he couldn't because there were people in this room that needed to be protected. As if Charlie could read his mind, the other boy rolled his eyes and left the library, not harming a single soul. From that point on, Niles decided to get his act together, obtain his motorcycle license, and start believing in the dream he knew he had but locked up in his heart for a long time. For the last year, Niles applied himself and his grades climbed the charts, fast. Since it was too late to get a perfect GPA, he would simply win his college over through his essay, which he tied in with his grief and love for his mother. He chose a college near his family in Chicago, Northwestern University, and knew, finally, he can start fresh. A new beginning. There was no point in looking back, just ahead. A beginning where he would fervently look forward, to become an OB/GYN doctor that Edenridge so desperately needed. He wasn't here to change the world but he would at least prevent women from dying during childbirth, which causes a domino effect of childhood trauma. It was a long term goal but enough to get him to force the darkness inside of him to subside. Unfortunately, grief isn't as linear as that, so while he is doing better, returning to Edenrdige may result in old feelings coming up. Old feelings he thought he had resolved. There's something about Edenridge that makes it tremendously hard to forget, no matter how much you want to. Oh and one more thing. Niles is now fully grown and his days in Chicago, with his uncle and cousins, has pushed him to hit the gym more than he's ever done before. Let's just say, Niles does not look like the same kid he was in high school. Even when he got taller and more manly. Now he has muscles to back that up.

Family
The Sinclair wealth started when Thomeson J. Sinclair, a Scot, emigrated to the United States in 1842 at the age of 23. He had heard of Dundee Township, Illinois, and decided to move there with his wife, building a cabin, and helping the abolitionist leaders during the Underground Railroad. Believe it or not, the first step to success for the Sinclair name was criminal detective work and not medicine. In 1849, he became one of the first police detectives in Chicago. Still in existence today is Sinclair National Detective Agency, but now as a subsidiary of Securitas AB. Thomeson's agency had solved numerous cases, like train robberies, and even got him connected with big people like Abraham Lincoln, John Brown, and FDR. His reputation was so impressive that there's a detective novel series on "Mr. Sinclair" by American mystery writer pseudonym Garrick Hines. Thomeson even produced numerous popular detective books (hiring ghostwriters) to display his exploits and those of his agents. With four children, one became a detective, one became a writer, one died young, and the last? He decided to explore a new pursuit. Medicine. After WWII, a descendant (from that child), who had served as a medic, decided to settle in/around the Boston area. Perhaps it was the antisemetic violence that escalated in Massachusetts that attracted them or perhaps they wanted to go beyond the border of Illinois; regardless of the reason, that side of the Sinclair family found a home in Edenridge and started a community teaching hospital. With time, dedication, and adapting to the times, the Sinclairs transformed their business from Sinclair Hospital to more presently, Sinclair Health. "The Sinclair" offers comprehensive medical and surgical care, as well as complete emergency, outpatient and diagnostic services.

CEO, Medical Director, Hector Sinclair, M.D. - Father - FC: Alfonso Herrera - Age: 40 - Hector wasn't always a staple figure in the town of Edenridge. If anything, he was a little shit in his teen years, who couldn't stand the expectations and pressure that the Sinclair name gave him. Let's just say there's a reason why he and Noella were meant to be and it isn't because he met her first. Hector had met Dominic, her brother, in Chicago, briefly on their travels, and they both clicked with their strong interest in cars. From there, they started a long distance bromance, visiting each other from time to time, and one thing led to another and Hector got Dom's sister pregnant. Even if he was already forced down the medical path, having a lover with child definitely put a fire under his ass and changed his perspective. Not for himself, but for his family. When he lost his wife, he was in his residency training, but he powered through until he got his masters. He appreciates the kindness of the Belmonte family who helped raised his kids while he and his wife were doing their best balancing parenthood and schooling. Now he is the head general surgeon and owner of Sinclair Health, seeing how his old man is in a retirement home in Chicago now. The Sinclairs have an unspoken policy where they, and the people that work for them, provide care for the SSS. It isn't something anyone talks about because it could take away the only hospital this town has to offer.
Deceased: Noella Sinclair (Maiden name: Tyler) - Mother - FC: Andrea Duro - Age: Would be 38, died at 29 from preeclampsia with the baby. Sadly, Sinclair Health isn't known for its maternity ward and OB/GYN, but they have a couple of phenomenal surgeons and knowledgeable pediatricians. The staff on call did not catch onto Noella's condition in time. - She was an air ambulance pilot, inspiring Niles' career choice. - A beautiful, loving woman who just wanted to constantly give back to her community. She adopted Carrie and Autumn when Niles was seven, they were five, year 2009, so he could have siblings while she and Hector focused on their medical careers. When she was 28, they were ready to try again. Aside from knowing how to fly a helicopter, Noella used to want to become a famous classical musician.
Niles Sinclair - Self - FC: Diego Boneta - Age: 20 - Attends Northwestern University (Chicago, IL), aiming to get a B.S. in Biology and then will go to medical school at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine for OB/GYN. This has been a decision he's made ever since his mother died. He used to play the snare drum, in the marching band because his father wanted to keep his mother alive somehow. He'd be damned if he joined orchestra with his little sisters. The marching band was more lenient. And being in the drumline looked cool. At home, he has a drum set he hasn't touched in a couple of years. It used to be his way of getting his frustrations out. At this point, it's hardly usable and one can see all the damage he's done by the amount of force his teen self put into it.
Caroline "Carrie" Sinclair - Adopted sister - FC: Meg Donnelly - Age: 17 turning 18 - Going to be a senior at Edenridge High - Cheerleader (Dancer & Singer), Clarinet/Orchestra (for mother's memory) - If Carrie was honest with herself, she would love to break into the hip hop and pop music scene, but her sister has made her feel like she'd just be another Taylor Swift, because of her picture perfect attitude and looks. Nothing original. So, instead she chooses to brush up her intelligence so she can pursue nursing. She can still enjoy the things she loves and cheerleading does the trick. In addition to that, she has dance lessons. Other than that? Most of her dancing and singing stays in the house, in the attic. She's debating auditioning for the spring musical, but doesn't know if she has what it takes. At least with the cheer squad, she has a sisterhood. The drama club kind of scares her with how intense they are. Cheer is intense but not THAT intense. Unbeknownst to a lot of people, she goes to salsa on Tuesdays and her dance partner is Danny Belmonte! She adores Danny and loves his willingness to learn. He makes Tuesday nights fun and she can admit he's a looker. Lucky for her, he's single, now she just has to find out if he'd date her.
Autumn Sinclair - Adopted sister - FC: Olivia Rodrigo - Age: 17 turning 18 - Going to be a senior at Edenridge High - In the USCF club (chess), Harpist/Orchestra (for her mother's memory), Speech & Debate, and Student Government as the treasurer - It's clear in comparison to her sister, Autumn has come from a more traumatizing childhood with how mysterious, ruthless, and coy she can be. She has a delinquent nature about her, even if she is clearly brilliant. Yes, she is involved in her school and doesn't hold back how smart she is, but she has an insufferable attitude and isn't afraid to hurt your feelings. She isn't trying to have a squeaky clean record and the school loves her father too much to really punish her. So, she'll keep doing what she wants. She finds the psychology of the human mind and the history of mankind to be absolutely fascinating. This part of her has used her peers and "friends" as subjects to manipulate, trigger, and gaslight, while covering it up with how flirtatious and pretty she is. If the medical field didn't seem like the path meant for her, because of how easy it would be to take over her father's company, then she would move to Chicago and become a FBI agent or a criminal investigator. See, she could never see herself becoming a therapist or psychologist because why on Earth would she want to help diagnose people with their issues? In law enforcement, she can legally interrogate and break people. How fun does that sound?
Colton Sinclair - Second Cousin - Age: 18 - Cornerback for Payton Grizzles Football Team, at Walter Payton College Preparatory High School
Logan Sinclair - Second Cousin - Age: 17 - Even with an openly gay uncle (Neil), Logan struggles with coming out with his sexuality. Maybe it's because his father, Malcolm, can be a womanizer even with a loyal wife, or maybe it's how unintentionally homophobic and traditional his mother can be, but coming out as gay isn't in his agenda anytime soon. The things he finds passion in his self expression, poetry, and history. He isn't certain about his future, but maybe a high school teacher? He wouldn't mind becoming a role model to students, so they don't resort to substance abuse, which he is currently struggling with. His brothers, while quietly, are helping him through his struggles in their own way.
Samuel Sinclair - Second Cousin - Age: 14 - Skateboarder, Smartass, & Stupidly Energetic. Might do something in extreme sports, might not do shit. Who knows. He's young.
AJ Tyler - Cousin - Age: 22 - FC: Bradley Simpson - Passionate about cars, will take over his father's mod shops eventually. He has graduated USC Marshall School of Business with a B.S. in Business Administration. Now that he's graduated, he and his best friend, Chris Reyes, can start their own auto repair shop. Chris has his ASE certification and has been honing his mechanic skills while waiting for AJ to finish up school. AJ is the funds/business minded one, Chris is the pure talent and skills. Both love cars. This just seemed right for them.
Molly Tyler - Cousin - FC: Ariana Grande - Age: 20 - Attends Boston University, getting a degree in marine biology. If ever in need of family, she visits Edenridge during her school year. She used to be a mean girl in highschool, but now that she's dealt with her insecurities, she struts her intelligence with pride. She can be a triple threat like her mother, without the added school politics. She can still have a bite, but now she's a bit more humble, wanting people to like her for having a good personality and not just for being pretty.
Henry Tyler - Cousin - 17 - FC: Charlie Gillespie - As the youngest Tyler, Henry has gotten away with murder. He takes nothing seriously, does what he wants, when he wants, and how he wants. He is emotionally stable, unlike his siblings. His brother suffered from anger issues while his sister was a plastic for most of her life with shitty self confidence. He is a thrill seeker, who has an innate talent for basketball, enjoys parkour & freerunning, and loves Mexican food, hot sauce, and burritos. He hates the rain, it is the one thing that makes him depressed, and he's a California boy, simply put. His mom thinks he has more issues than he admits, but he really doesn't think that's the case. Sure, he had to take remedial summer classes or he'd stay back and he doesn't really care about anything but himself, but where's the problem? Haylee has sat down with her husband and has decided to have him stay with his uncle in hopes a change of atmosphere can get him to party less and actually think about his future.

Note: Dominic and Noella also have a sister named Teresa Kable (Age: 44, FC: Alexa PenaVega), who lives in Las Vegas. Teresa owns a line of hotels & casinos. Her husband, Elijah Kable (Age: 56, FC: Hrithik Roshan), "The Archangel of Poker", has played professional poker for over 35 years, is a two-time World Series of Poker Main Event champion, and a Poker Hall of Fame inductee. He not only won 10 World Series of Poker bracelets but two World Poker tour championship titles. They have three children, Sabina "Sonya" (Age: 26, FC: Cindy Kimberly), she's a wild one, previously a stripper, now a house mama, a model, and one hell of a gambler, Jasenia (Age: 25, FC: Sarah Jeffery), the business minded one, aiming to follow her mother's footsteps, and lastly, Trenton (Age: 22, FC: PJ Liguori), an aspiring filmmaker, specifically cinematography and directing.
Actually an excellent driver, and has a guilty pleasure of dirt biking. His cousin, AJ, is surprised he didn't get involved with racing or motor vehicles. If he wasn't so goodhearted, he'd be a fantastic getaway driver.
While not big on sweets, he would eat anything with apples in it.
He's also big on grilling and he hopes one day to be a grill master, like his uncle Clyde.
He remembered exploring Edenridge High late at night, numerous times, when no one else was around. He'd whistle in the halls and do a fun prank for kids to see in the morning.
A lot smarter than his apathy gave him credit for. Sophomore year, his limited amount of friends feared he'd stay back a year so they forced him in a study group with them. Because they outwardly were trying, he applied himself and got better grades than them. Only so he could move to the next year. That made them realize he wasn't dumb. He was intentionally doing bad.
