Esme closed her eyes and took in a slow breath at Cason’s answer. She had grown tired of his smartass remarks and smug attitude. The way he acted as if they couldn’t do anything to him because he had the answers they needed was infuriating. The more he spoke, the more she wanted to punch him in the face. 

She opened her eyes just as it happened. Dean had punched Cason square in the nose. It was as if he had read her mind and it was a beautiful site to see even if Cason did laugh about it. As she looked down at Cason, she saw Bobby rise to his feet in response to Dean’s tone out of the corner of her eye. 

Then Mika pulled Dean away from Carson so he wouldn’t go after him again. After a few more words, Natalia and Sam were now moving in on Cason. His vagueness on everything made her want to kick him in the face at that moment, which she easily could have. She couldn’t help but give a nod at Natalia’s and Sam’s words. 

She wholeheartedly agreed with them. When AnnaBeth broke her silence with yelling, Esme nearly jumped out of her skin and backed away from Carson as he coughed. She backed up even more when the mirror above them cracked. Esme looked at AnnaBeth as the others were trying to calm her down. But it didn't seem to be working. 

She was playing right into Carson’s words. She didn’t know what to do. This was one situation she had never found herself in. She closed her eyes tight and balled her fists even tighter. She was about to lose it, until things finally calmed down a bit. She opened her eyes as AnnaBeth talked calmly to Dean and Sam. 

Her eyes shifted to Cason as he spoke once more, then disappeared with a snap of his fingers. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” she said in almost a growl. This was getting to be a bit too much for her, her head felt like it was spinning. She staggered away and rested against the wall behind her. 

“I’m sure it won’t be the last time we see him.” she almost whispered, mostly to herself. She grabbed her head and looked over at AnnaBeth, who was now clinging to Sam.
