[color=6ecff6]Ability:[/color] [b]Atmokinesis:[/b] Nyssa will demonstrate a plethora of abilities over time, most of which are facets of her power to manipulate the weather. Nyssa possesses the psionic ability to control all forms of Weather Manipulation. She can modify the temperature of the environment, control all forms of precipitation, humidity and moisture, generate lightning and other electromagnetic atmospheric phenomena, and has demonstrated excellent control over atmospheric pressure. She can incite all forms of meteorological tempests, such as tornadoes, thunderstorms, blizzards, and hurricanes, as well as mist. She can dissipate such weather to form clear skies as well.

Her precise control over the atmosphere allows her to create special weather effects. She can create precipitation at higher or lower altitudes than normal, make whirlwinds travel pointing lengthwise in any direction, channel ambient electromagnetism through her body to generate electric blasts, flash freeze objects and people, coalesce atmospheric pollutants into acid rain or toxic fog, and, along with her natural ability of flight, summon wind currents strong enough to support her weight to elevate herself (or others) to fly at high altitudes and speeds. 

She will also demonstrate the ability to control natural forces that include storms, solar wind, ocean currents, and electromagnetic energy. Nyssa has been shown to be sensitive to the dynamics of the natural world, and her psionic powers over weather are affected by her emotions. hence, if she chooses to or she does not maintain control, a fit of rage might induce a destructive storm. Her power can be limited by the force of her will and the strength of her body while in the Astral Plane, Nyssa's powers are useless as they exist in her body, not her spiritual essence.

[color=6ecff6]Background:[/color] Nyssa Devout was born and raised in the U.S. She is the eldest of two siblings having a younger brother, her mixed heritage coming from having an African American mother and a Caucasian father who had met via a mutual friend. Nyssa would spend the early years of her life being raised by her mother or babysitters while her father did periodic visits as he remained in the states starting up Astraea Corporation, A private paramilitary and security organisation. Nyssa had quite the protected life, because of this she struggled to adjust and make friends in her younger years. 

Despite all this, Nyssa had a pretty amazing upbringing with a pair of hard working but very loving parents, after all the success of her father’s company meant they were among the wealthy and upper class of society, getting pretty much whatever she wanted. Nyssa did pretty well in her education pushing herself hard and performed well in sports where she could as she was quite the active and engaging type. Nyssa became a little rebellious in her teenage years, it was not easy being the daughter of a well-known man, both her parents helping to sort out and channel her aggression once when she got into a fight with one of her long-time friends, she also became very protective of her new younger brother which may of helped Nyssa change her course for the better.

Nyssa had it all planned out, she wanted to build on her own independence and tried mixing education and eventually once old enough with work to earn her way and not get hand offs from her parent’s, which to be fair made them proud. Unfortunately, all that planning took a dent when she got laid off from her job. Nyssa took it on her chin and decided to drop out of college to concentrate on working all in on the family business of Astraea. Of which extended its reach into Europe and Asia along with over $10 billion of taxpayer's money in US government contracts to its name. 

She was always thankful of the time she spends with her family, now understanding the sacrifices her parents made as she to, balances spending time with her younger brother and the family business. Nyssa would often be spending quite a bit of time with her father at a shooting range, with him teaching her how to use a gun properly, she wasn’t initially good at it but got much better over time, but the bonding time she got with her father made it absolutely worth it, as he was intending to hand over the reins of the company to her one day. Nyssa is responsible for expanding Astraea into domestic operations and humanitarian work.

One day a few months back, the energy storm struck across several major cities, Nyssa herself managed to get away with it relatively unharmed, only being in a minor traffic incident before taking shelter with her brother until the storms stopped. Over the next couple of weeks Nyssa immediately set up humanitarian aid efforts when she became suddenly ill and collapsing on the floor as she came down with the energy plague, it was a horrific feeling. Something she had never experienced in her life before as she was very quickly hospitalized, her parents were eventually notified as doctors doing everything they could do with so many becoming infected. It felt excruciating as she was hospitalized for the best part of a month before she began to show signs of recovery. 

Despite baffling the doctors and with a week of observations Nyssa was able to go home, and the following week she began showing signs of powers, learning that now she is an altered human. However, Nyssa did not let this change her ways and against her fathers better judgment through fear of coming down ill again, she pushed on with humanitarian aid efforts once more while working on her new found abilities away from the public eye where she could. More often than not Nyssa would still be working in the ever changing climate. Her father is still intending to have Nyssa to take control of the company one day as her morals still seem to be in the right place, even if he won’t admit that he is shit scared of what his daughter could be capable of.
