Speaking of getting my arse in gear... Let me know if this guy's good or not. I've got a backup sheet in the works that I'll post too incase Frank's no-go. Now I’ll be lucky to be a Crazy Quilt knock off.“[/sup]

Frank wanted to be a Green Lantern more than anything after getting saved by Hal Jordan. He more or less gave up on his military career in the pursuit of becoming worthy of a power ring, training in his free time and even moving to Gotham to work at Arkham Asylum. After losing out on a ring due to a glitch in the ring, Frank was ready to give up on it all until he was visited by Volthoom, the first Lantern. Through some wacky] hijinx, Frank got his hands on the Phantom Ring; a prototype power ring capable of utilizing all aspects of the emotional spectrum but without the higher functions and safety measures. Initially Frank was able to keep himself under control enough to do some good deeds but after being confront by Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz, Frank flew off the handle, succumbing to his emotions and causing havoc. In a drawn out fight the Phantom Lantern was defeated after the apparent destruction of the ring. Frank Laminski was quickly taken into custody but just as quickly transferred to Belle Reve where a revelation revealed itself to the distraught would-be hero. The Phantom Ring had gone dormant after its power had been used up, its power signature only showing up to those actively scanning for it ie. the U.S. government. The ring recharged itself while Frank was in custody where he began to try more to better utilize his new tool.

[SUP][SUB]
A B I L I T I E S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

Accomplished Pilot: Frank spent a good amount of time in the Air Force and as such he can likely fly any man made craft with a fair amount of skill and possibly otherworldly ones. Frank is tangentially familiar with specific models of aircraft and the basic behind how they tick but he wouldn’t be able to fix one save for patching holes. Along with his pilot training, Frank is able to hold his own well enough with a firearm. I wanted to either; pick a character that was a doppelgänger of a hero and relatively unknown B or C lister. Thinking and looking around I found a few that fit one or both of the bills but after finding Frank again I’d remembered how much I liked him from his brief stint in the comics. I’m a sucker for bad guys trying to do good things and that seemed perfect for a Suicide Squad game. He’s a pretty flawed guy who was more so in the heroics for the sake of purpose and validation than any moral obligation which is a neat angle to tackle. Roll wise I think Frank would fit well as the “I’m not supposed to be here type”. I won’t play him the whole time trying to do his best to get out of custody (within reason) but more so hating the fact that he’s now being associated with career criminals. The Ring has unfiltered access to the entire emotional spectrum allowing it’s wearer to manipulate the entire thing. With its status as a prototype, the Phantom Ring doesn’t have many of the features of it’s future successors such as translator, onboard AI or any sort of autonomy. With all its boons comes some bad in the form of making the wearer very emotionally unstable.
