Dean’s blank stare slowly turned into a glare as Kenzi spoke. His fist began to ball up on top of the table again, his frustration, rage, and heartbreak boiling to an unsafe level. Finally, as she finished, he slammed his fist roughly against the table, causing the whole thing to quake. “WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!”, he screamed, the tone of his voice shocking almost himself. He stood as he screamed, and quickly placed his forearm against Kenzi’s throat and collarbones, shoving her back into the nearest wall, “You show up, talking about her as if you know every detail of her life. I like that. Hell, for a second I would have thought you were her…” His breathing was ragged as he stared her down, pressing the tip of his nose against hers, “You wanna know why I drink…and I go through these motions every single day, hmm? Because it’s how I keep from killing people. Real people.” He gritted his teeth and shoved his arm a little harder into her chest, “But there’s always you. You’re always there to feel that void…to feel familiar. And damn do you feel familiar. But you don’t get to lecture me on healthy, or normal…” He continued simply staring at her, his eyes burning with a pent up rage he had forgotten was there. ——— Anna smiled at Sam’s reaction to the kiss and she quickly ran to her bed, pulling out the bag that she already had packed and waiting there. This was something she was also planning to do for days, but was always afraid to go alone. Running back to him, she grabbed his hand roughly and dragged him out the door. She knew that if she allowed him to stand around much longer, he might back out and she couldn’t risk it. Dragging him, she bolted across the parking lot. “I know of a place we can go. There’s a cabin up on that range. I already went there to check it out as a place to hide. It has a basement, and we can stake out there until morning…then it’s wherever you want to go, Sam.”, she gasped as she ran and laughed, her hand clenching his for dear life.
