I HATED the Strawberry mission with him. If I had my choice I woulda sprung him and then dipped. I woulda preferred to let him hang. My first play through I didn't like Micah but my second I hate the man with a passion. 

Anyway, gotta have some personal growth for my character and I need Pete cuz he has a thing for Anna so I think it would be fun for him to meet her ex/abuser. Get to learn exactly why Anna hates this particular gang so much. But that can come as a little side quest for them. :P
