His quarters have the bed swapped for a bacta tank, where he heals himself after a long day since his cybernetics put so much strain on his body.

Ion Prone - due to his extensive cybernetics, he is especially vulnerable to ion weaponry. 
Bacta Dependency - the cybernetics put such a strain on his body, that he must sleep in a special bacta tank to restore his organic flesh and keep him alive. 
Psychological Problems - while most of the time he may seem with it, he is suffering from PTSD from the bomb that deformed him. The extensive cybernetics do not add to the stability of his mind.

Rebels healed him, and he defected. 

Now using cybernetics to keep himself alive.
