Through witnessing great things born of the past and acquiring their meanings, and through uplifting the great family creation through the Holy Grail, the family's great wish may be perfected.  However, there is something flowing beneath the surface. While an inheritor of legacy, Antonio is simultaneously an eccentric who fancies himself as a genius. Indeed, if he were simply an inheritor of legacy, he would not do something so suicidal as enter a Holy Grail War. He would simply stay in his family's spiritual land and live his days away, perfecting the art as best he could before passing it to his successor.  A hatred for the wish forced upon him, and a desire to make it all his own. To paint the world with his brush, to create a great art that excels what even his family's great founder dreamed of. Perhaps, if pushed to the brink, that newfound obsession may blossom. Through their channel, one may gauge the relative 'quality' of that which is present in one's field of view, from a processing standpoint. Such things as "closeness to spoiling" and "degree of flaws" naturally fall under such domain. Its purpose is to gauge the quality of ingredients, to determine what may be utilized and what must be thrown away, but beyond that, to discover what holds the potential to become something truly incredible. However, if turned to the inverse, it may be used as a tool for war. Aldintabruthe Transmutation: A subspecies of western alchemy and concept endowment perfected by the Aldintabruthe. Since time immemorial, cooking has been intertwined with magecraft. Even stretching into the Age of Man, when science was still coming into being, such burgeoning fields as chemistry were no different from alchemy. While not understood, the traditions were followed, and this indeed became a foundation all its own. The Aldintabruthe are a family of cheesemongers originating in northern Italy, today serving as the Second Owners of Reggio Emilia. Drawing on stories that stretch back as far as a millennium from their founding, they have crafted magecraft from their work. That is to say, magecraft which is meant to create cheese. From milk, a transient thing which will surely vanish, the form of cheese is made. The greatest qualities of milk's nutrition are kept, but given a newer form, one that may last longer, and in this change, something new and beautiful is born. Put simply, this is a magecraft premised around comporting "transient things" into "enduring forms". Milk to cheese, food to men. In this, the family's first attribute- Alteration- is reflected. An uneducated magus might call this a halfhearted attempt to chase the heels of the Denial of Nothingness, but the underlying theory and belief are utterly different. Aldintabruthe Fortification: A subspecies of standard strengthening craft, in which the enduring qualities of the entity in question are dredged out. Simply giving something an enduring form is not enough- it would not do if cheese was merely "milk but solid", as then it is simply storage, rather than art. Rather, everything that was to be preserved in milk is to be retained, but something new is meant to be fashioned from its form. Drawing out an inherent beauty that has been stifled. In other words, a magecraft based around the concept of "aging cheese", in order to bring out its best qualities. While the process is entirely dissimilar and far weaker in mystery, the result is not unlike accelerating the localized time of the entity. In this, the family's second attribute- Reinforcement- is reflected. However, there is a danger. Something that has merely been given form is flexible, young. It is a reed that will bend without breaking. Something that has been aged in this fashion is stronger, yes, but it is less flexible, simply by having become more defined, more ingrained. It is a tree that will weather many assaults, but will break when the opposition becomes too great. Bounded Fields: The standard fare. A specialty is possessed in this art, for the purposes of establishing "stable spaces", such as those where cheese may safely be made. Regulation of airflow, temperature, humidity, the flow of magical energy, and similar such things, without having to worry about confounding factors.
ᴄʀᴇꜱᴛ
750 years, five generations.
ᴍʏꜱᴛɪᴄ cᴏᴅᴇ
Sanguis Caseus: Magical energy, as something imaginary, is a transient thing which cannot function in real space for extended time. Bodily fluids may contain one's internal magical energy for a limited time, but even this is transient. Those magi who follow Conversion overturn this edict through prisons that stop flow, but such a thing is beyond the Aldintabruthe. Put simply, these are cheeses which have been crafted out of magical energy and fluids which contain magical energy, allowing it to exist in an enduring form. As with Conversion magi, the most efficient use of these is as a "mana pot", but it is not limited to such. For cheeses crafted from processed magical energy, aging results in an increased force of existence but a decreased stability. For cheeses crafted from one's bodily fluids, aging results in a decreased efficacy of magical energy transfer, but the underlying impulses of the source being are put on display.  Somnium Caseus: Wishes are a strong, enduring thing. Indeed, the true materialization of a "wish" is something often regarded as beyond the limits of modern magecraft, as such a thing is within the realms of the abnormal aptitude known as Demon Summoning. A dream, however, is transient. It is something which exists only in its own moment, and upon waking, is lost. One is surely familiar with feeling the memory of a dream slip away as one rises out of grogginess. Where there is that transience, so too is there the Aldintabruthe's potential. That is to say, cheeses crafted from "dreams". By consuming it, one may experience the dream, though one must be cautious to not become addicted. If aged, the form of the dream may become something material, but as controlling this is impossible, doing so is ill-advised. It is better intended as a party trick than anything else, then. Mundus Caseus: The Finality of the family. A cheese crystal from the original batch of parmigiano reggiano that the first family head created, passed down through the family line. A system which stores "taste" as "light", in the form of a higher-dimensional stratum, and calculates expansions based on the "tastes" it obtains. While one might assume this to rely upon Conversion theory, it is rather that "taste" (transient) is comported into "light" (enduring) for the purposes of injection. If the goal of the true photonic crystal is to calculate all possibilities and all knowledge in this world, then the goal of the Aldintabruthe is to calculate All the World's Tastes.
