For most of his life, Vanitas generally spent a majority of it studying at the Titan’s Pit and eventually taking up the extracurricular hobby of being a field agent for the Institute, dedicated to preventing small-scale, minor apocalypses-- to the degree that such a thing can even be said to exist. Using it as an opportunity to enjoy and educate himself about the world while fixing issues that the geniuses of Atlas do not feel the need to to intervene in personally. This has led him to be very appreciative of life in general and reaffirmed his belief in the Institute's goal of preventing the Apocalypse. With one of the lords of the Clock Tower invoking a contract, the Institute has sent Vanitas as an alchemist on loan after he volunteered due to both his experience and the relative stability of the Crudelis family's current lineage. Vanitas’s only wish being to circumvent the steadily increasing speed seen in the latest calculations of humanity’s destruction.
ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴀɴᴅ ꜱᴇᴀʟ

ꜱᴡɪᴛᴄʜ
Closing his eyes, he envisions a chisel striking marble.
Qᴜᴀɴᴛɪᴛʏ
D
Qᴜᴀʟɪᴛʏ
D
ᴀꜰꜰɪɴɪᴛʏ
Average One
ᴍᴀɢᴇᴄʀᴀꜰᴛ
Atlas Alchemy (Bone): The Crudelis family alchemy allows Vanitas to make bone familiars and bone constructs in the form of humans, apes, giant spiders, wolves, and birds that continually move on their own as long as their core is intact. Essentially allowing him to create a skeletal army that is animated and controlled with Memory Partition and Thought Acceleration instead of Necromancy. Due to this fact, abilities that could be considered ‘anti-undead’ are ineffective simply because the bones are instead constructs like automatons, golems, and puppets. Memory Partition and Thought Acceleration: The signature ability of the alchemists of Atlas, the means by which they have so thoroughly calculated the upcoming end of the world. The proof of one's capabilities as an alchemist, it is the art of separating one's mind into separate processes, effectively multiplying one's capacity for cognition and calculation manifold. The minimum expected of one of Atlas' top alchemists is three partitions, but Vanitas, who has already reached the specifications of a master alchemist, is capable of four. However, five, the mark of a true genius, is still beyond him. By dividing one's thought processes into four separate 'rooms', which in turn can be further divided via tetration into 256 separate thought processes, Vanitas is capable of controlling around 1024 bone familiars should he need to, though extended use of tetration causes headaches. Furthermore, it allows for rapid acceleration of mental faculties, including these separate thought processes, allowing for near-instantaneous calculations, problem-solving and the like. Making all constructs under him act as if they each have their own mind as well as passively helping Vanitas think, calculate, and analyze in only a few seconds. General Foundations: Although an Atlas Alchemist, Vanitas has found knowing at least the general foundations of magecraft to be useful in day to day life. He displays average competency in basic magus oriented tasks. This covers the following. Familiar Creation, Alchemy, Suggestion, Reinforcement, Structural Analysis, and Boundary Fields.
ᴄʀᴇꜱᴛ
None
ᴍʏꜱᴛɪᴄ cᴏᴅᴇ
Skelementals: A series of full-fledged completely autonomous parasite-type familiar that creates golems using its environment. These familiars are created using Vanitas’s own bones and thus have his affinity for all elements. Appearing as skeletal golem-like creatures with black markings, they are relatively harmless when in their inert state. But are fully capable of becoming dangerous elemental constructs when they have gathered enough materials. Since they are also made of Vanitas’s bones he can assume direct control of these familiars by using Memory Partition and Thought Acceleration. Amount: 1000 (250 of each type). Efreet – A familiar that uses its fire, water, and wind affinity to surround its body in pure heat, it seemingly looks like a skeleton shrouded in fire and steam. It has almost no defensive power but possesses great destructive power as it simply leaves a path of melted destruction in its wake. These are typically used as autonomous bombs as multiple Efreets can be used to deal significant damage to a wide area. Alraune – A familiar that uses its water and earth affinity to construct its body out of rock, soil, and plants. It boasts incredible defensive power due to being able to continuously repair its defenses and shield its skeletal body deep inside a large body of earth. It’s ability to burrow underground and stealthily take out its enemies makes it very effective for surprise attacks. Djinn – A familiar that uses its water, wind, and earth affinity to construct its body out of sand and wind, although defensively weaker than the others, its ability to levitate and obscure its body allows it to function as scouts and aerial units that provide great utility and offensive capabilities. Undine – A familiar that uses its water and wind affinity to create a body for itself using liquids, with the only physical way to damage it being to directly hit its skeletal body in its active state. Each Undine’s abilities vary greatly depending on the type and amount of the liquid it was able to absorb during conception, ranging from mostly harmless to incredibly deadly. Its aquatic nature makes them perfect soldiers in naval battles. Bone Garden: A suit case containing a biological garden that grows bones in imaginary number space, that continuously grow at an accelerated rate due to the time dilation in imaginary number space, which can be used to make at least 10 constructs per day.

Mundane Skills
Non-magical skills
Mathematics: An Atlas Alchemist possesses great calculation and measurement ability that is rare to manifest naturally in a normal human and their five senses. Since they specialize in thought partitioning and thought acceleration, techniques that make use of the human body as an arithmetic unit. If you just want a mathematical prodigy, there's no need for an alchemist – an engineer would do just fine. What sets apart an alchemist is that for them, the human body in its entirety (body, mind, and soul) is a unit for calculating, executing, and nurturing events. Making it an almost natural skill for Vanitas that is at a level beyond any normal human. Barista: A skill he acquired in order to make his breaks more enjoyable. Taking advantage of memory partition and thought acceleration, Vanitas has learned how to make at least the 30 popular types of coffee with no margin of error between temperature, taste, and color. Medicine: As an alchemist of the Crudelis family who use their very own bodies as tools. It is almost a requirement to study the body at a young age in order for one to make use of it as a tool for the mind. At Vanitas's level one can easily call him a competent doctor and surgeon. Capable of treating the human body as easily as he harvest's materials from it. Driving: Constantly traveling and being on the field has given Vanitas the ability to steer modern day vehicles. Computers: With the constant advancement of technology and the superiority of Atlas's own, it was childs play to learn how to manipulate the technology of the modern day. When done in combination with Memory Partition and Thought Acceleration, he can hack most security systems in a few minutes given the right equipment, create multiple modern apps, and even build a high end gaming computer. Marksmanship: The weapon of the modern day, unlike magi Vanitas finds that using a simple mundane gun is more than enough in a fight if you know how to aim. While he favors the pistol he is an above average marksman with nearly every weapon he's had at least a year to train with. The fact that his brain can easily calculate the trajectory of each of his shots within seconds makes him scarily accurate.
