He took in the scenery and watched the patrons, picking up little observations here and there. With his gaze distant, he continued, "Well you must be really proud for $200." Despite some effort, he couldn't hide his smirk from forming before he finally gave Kira his full attention once more. "Jack," he stated simply, finally answering the woman's question. He touched the front rim of his black hat with the tip of his index finger before giving it a tug in tandem with a shallow nod, an informal 'how do ya do'. The words of the frantic priest outside broke through the static of the bar sounds around him. Jack's eyebrow raised at the talk of The Devil walking among them. A vision of him sitting opposite a red, horned and bearded individual, both with cards in their hands and a mountain of chips stacked up between them, had briefly entered his mind. Curiosity and excitement sent impulses to the roots of Jack's arm hairs, causing a chill. Wouldn't that be the game of a lifetime, he thought. "If only it were so," he finally said aloud to his new female associate. "The Devil among us..." He gave a cheesy grin before turning back toward the bar itself. With a silent gesture, he called the keep over for another round before slamming it down. The alcohol was doing its job; a welcome buzz fell over Jack's body. It was the state of mind that he called home, where he was his happiest. "Well, I find myself divided, Miss Kira. Half of me wants to see what sort of entertainment that barker outside could provide. The other half wants to get to work on rebuilding my bankroll." His eyes squinted as his crooked smile grew. "Though, I suppose the true suckers don't come out until nightfall," he stated, nodding toward an underpopulated card table.
