The lunch they had was more than perfect in Mika's eyes. The sharing of the milkshake made her think of all those high school books, shows and films she had watched where they do exactly that and she would take the piss out of them, but having done it herself she honestly understood it. He made her laugh more than she ever had before which was a testiment in her eyes as they always had a laugh together. She couldn't help but find it so amusing that the waitress seemed to be really rooting for them with the photos and leaving them be at other times. She too wanted to kiss him at several points in the diner but she was far too nervous to do so. She was never one for the big public displays of affection and this was so new for her. Now they had spent the rest of day skipping school all together which she no doubt would cause the school to call her parents as it was so out of character for her, she didn't care what consequence that would cause for her. She was genuinely happy. More happy than she ever had been before. She was with her best friend, a best friend she had more feelings for and he for her. A best friend that could possibly become more than that and she was honestly on cloud 9. She knew normally she wouldn't be happy walking around Sioux Falls in the dark, but she never felt afraid with Dean beside her, even if she didn't fully know what his work was with his dad. He just gave her that sense of security and safety. The fact he wasn't afraid gave her that sense of being content doing the same. Reaching the playground and sandbox, she stepped in with him keeping her hand in his and looked up at him as he spoke to her, bumbling his way through his words yet again which just made her feel so much more endeared to him. "I am happy. Happier than I've been for a little while. I've had an amazing day Dean. I really needed this to get out of my head. I don't really know how these dates are meant to work either but I guess... Go on for as long as we want?" she replied, her tone showing just how much of a guess it was for her as well. She glanced down shyly at their hands interlocked as they always were but it most certainly felt so different this time round. She then looked back up at him, taking in his bright green eyes looking into her black/brown ones, she so desperately wanted to kiss him, to make that move that would silently move their friendship to another stage and although they knew this was a date, she was still nervous to. Eventually (after what felt like an eternity but was only a few moments in reality) she went up to her tiptoes and with. A little bit of hesitation, finally took the plunge and pecked his lips.
