Unbeknownst to the Allies, the Ahnenerbe think tank of the Schutzstaffel had made a breakthrough in their "heritage research", opening a webway into alternate dimensions through ancient artifacts discovered on an Arctic expedition years earlier. They thought they had won; that they had secured the total victory over the Allies the Nazi Party so desperately wanted. They were dead wrong. Monstrous creatures and machinery spewed from the webway portal, bringing death and destruction to the already beleaguered Axis powers, and eventually, the Allies. The artillery of the Americans, the panzers of the Germans, the conscripts of the Russians—nothing could make a dent in their forces, even more so when they had the ability to transform dead and comatose bodies into what is now dubbed "impure strains", wicked killing machines specially adapted for a task or purpose. With these new strains, it was not long until this alien foe had conquered Europe and began their rather unstoppable push into the Soviet Union in preparation for something bigger—the end of the New World. America, 1947 — When reports from Europe and other parts of the world ceased to come in, the New World and the few surviving governments-in-exile readied their defenses for an enemy that they knew little about. An enemy that would ultimately shred through what defenses were mustered, apparent by the sudden and rapid downfall of the United States and surrounding countries. Desertion was common, whereas others chose suicide, knowing the enemy they were fighting was very well the mutated bodies of their once family and friends. Hope was lost, and humanity with it. Not all faltered in the face of the enemy, however. A small group of survivors, a ragtag band of soldiers and civilians, have joined forces in a desperate attempt to escape the heavily-bombed and infested ruins of what was once Detroit, Michigan. Incidentally, you are among them, fleeing for your life like everyone else. Will you and your comrades be able to escape, or will you all become yet another nameless victim lost to the war?

Out of Character Information

Okay, this is a general interest check to see who'd be interested in a more "dark and mature" kind of apocalypse scenario situated in an alternate WW2. If you've played any of the Resistance series, then you're likely know what I'm trying to go for. That said, I'm more or less filing off the serial numbers and taking the concept to put my own spin on it by changing some elements, such as renaming the Chimera "Angels" and updating their origin story to be more grounded in our World War 2 rather than the alt-historical setting Resistance already has. Feel free to hit me up with any questions, comments or concerns you might have if you're interested and I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability.
