IC, we have recently reached Vareena Town, home of the grass-type gym and a contest hall. Most of the characters are headed to the gym right now, though there was a bit of a... hiccup, so your character might have to wait a bit if they intend to challenge the gym.

Overall, the main thing you have to know about the world is Team Noble. They are a mysterious group, if not just an urban legend, who is sometimes theorized as the culprits behind the recent disappearances of several Pokemon tournament winners. Some characters may know more, but it would make sense for yours not to.

Most of us have 3-6 Pokemon with levels at around 10-15 (if you have 5 or 6, some of them should be a little lower level).

I started this RP 2-3 years in, and though my character has certainly missed some things, it hasn't been prohibitively hard to fit in as the new guy.
