I can save you a spot on a nice Raft in the bay."[/sup]

There have been a lot of great incarnations of Peter Parker over the years, and I think the version that works best is when he's an young adult and can't quite catch a break. Enough origin stories or young versions of Peter Parker have been immortalized, so I think having a more experienced Spider-Man makes more sense. He's put away many in his Rogues gallery a few times, but they always manage to escape and become repeat offenders. He would be a longer-standing member of the Avengers, believing in heroes having accountability for their actions... and so he can get a constant supply of necessary tech to accomplish what he needs to. Peter isn't able to hold down a steady job, and instead has to rely on freelance work as a photographer for the Bugle, and occasionally doing some technical consulting to convince himself he didn't waste five years getting a degree in mechanical engineering. This version of Peter doesn't differ much from what you would expect. He tries to maintain his only healthy friendship with Mayoral candidate Harry Osborn and tries to keep tabs on his Aunt May, but there are hardly enough hours in the day. Peter has suffered the heartbreak of losing his first love in a battle with the Green Goblin, and indulging in true vengeance only once in refusing to save Norman Osborn shortly thereafter. He's been around the world and perhaps even been in space once or twice. But he's also getting into his thirties with no stable income and living in a cramped studio apartment in Hell's Kitchen. Most of the people Peter talks to are either fighting alongside him or trying to kill him. It's unhealthy, to say the least. But Peter never gives up and always keeps trying to do the right thing. After all... with great power...

[SUP][SUB]
P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ):
[/SUB][/SUP]

You know, Spider-Man is perhaps the first super hero I ever had interest in as a kid. The newspaper we got every Sunday when I was young printed cheap new copies of the original Spider-Man run and they were the first comics I read as a kid. I think it's about time I took a shot at writing the character and trying to tell a compelling Spider-Man story. Here are the three story focuses I have planned currently for Spider-Man, in no particular order.
[sub][sup]
SOMETHING SINISTER
[/sup][/sub] Six of Spider-Man's most dangerous rogues have all escaped prison simultaneously under suspicious circumstances. They seem to have a primary goal: to kill the Spider-Man. All the while, he is trying to train up an apprentice to help him protect New York when Spider-Man is needed elsewhere. Can Peter Parker discover who it is pulling the strings behind his six foes before the city tears itself apart? And will the young heroes be ready to face off against such Sinister threats? Characters Involved: Spider-Man, Miles Morales, the Sinister Six, other heroes. Desired # of Players: 2-4

[sub][sup]
STREETS PAINTED RED
[/sup][/sub] The NYC art scene is notorious for being a dangerous game. Major criminals steal and trade in major art pieces, but someone as of late has had the audacity to start stealing art pieces from some of the most dangerous criminals in town. Crime families are starting to point fingers, and it's only a matter of time before there is a true war on the streets of Manhattan. Characters Involved: Spider-Man, Black Cat, Mysterio, Prowler, Various Gangsters, Any street level heroes Desired # of Players: Any
The general outline for what I am intending in a first arc playing Spider-Man is placing emphasis on a Peter Parker who is overwhelmed, and is going to have to rely on allies significantly for the first time in order to keep New York from falling into chaos. Gang Warfare is erupting in the streets as six of Spider-Man's most sinister adversaries are plotting to destroy the webslinger once and for all. Spider-Man has just begun training a young Miles Morales (or mentoring/fostering a friendship with another newer hero or ally) as he finds himself being called in to assist with the Avengers and other heroes more and more, and is ultimately going to have to unravel the mystery of who is trying to kill the amazing Spider-Man. I have listed in the notes section just a few ideas for potential supporting characters that would mesh well with this story. One last thing I think is important to focus on, especially with how this RP operates... Peter doesn't know how to say no to people who need help. He's a founding member of the Avengers, and is happy to lend a hand to any hero in need. While I am running a Driving arc for the character, he is still free to act as a sort of Roaming Support character in other stories as well. Get in touch if you want the webhead to guest spot.

[SUP][SUB]
C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

Miles Morales (Also Spider-Man... that won't get confusing): I mean, let's be real. He's the best high school Spider-Man, and a great opportunity to tell a Spider-Man style origin story with a mentor figure. He will definitely be included in the story as a rising successor. Felicia Hardy (Black Cat): An easy supporting character who can either help or hinder the Spiders in their quest to deal with the Sinister Six. Flash Thompson (Agent Venom): I understand what people enjoy, but I would be very picky with anyone wanting to write Venom as a supporting character. I think Agent Venom is the best choice for an arc like this, and would foster a much more interesting dynamic. Dereck James (Sideways): Another possibility for a sort of street-level hero if his powers are toned down slightly. Teleportation/Rift powers and his background also fit that high school level hero learning his powers. Ted Kord (Blue Beetle): Honestly... Insect themed superheroes known for quips and a penchant for science? I think it could work for a very, very specific audience. Any Spider-Man rogue: If you want to be on the Sinister Six, let me know and app a supporting character. Again, might be a little picky here since it needs to make sense for your character to want to ruin the Web head's day... but I think having someone run one of the villains would be fantastic for this story.

Doc Oc: Beloved scientific figure and former professor Peter Parker studied under in college, Otto Octavian has succumb to his darker temptations and taken on the supervillain persona of Doc Oc with his four tentacle-like robotic appendages. Rhino: Aleksei Sytsevich willingly partook in experimental testing that increased his muscle mass and his physique exponentially. His skin became as hard as metal, and eventually developed a horn on his head as a byproduct of his genetic mutation. He is a powerful beast, if not particularly bright. Electro: After a freak accident while working at Roxxon, Maxwell Dillon managed to absorb and found he could control large quantities of electricity. This tremendous power went immediately to his head, and he desires nothing more than to accumulate wealth and power. Electro has begun developing an unhealthy obsession with containing more and more electricity to become strong enough to defeat his foes and prove that he is a truly powerful being. Vulture: Adrian Toomes was a brilliant inventor and mechanical engineer who constructed a cutting edge prototype flight suit. He demonstrated it's abilities to the US Air Force and SHIELD, but they refused to purchase the designs from him after a testing of the mechanism resulted in the death of a pilot. SHIELD later created a working version of Toomes' prototype and demonstrated it openly, infuriating Adrian. He perfected his prototype and took on the villainous persona of the Vulture to get back at SHIELD, designing a more combat-oriented version of the flight suit. Scorpion: The private investigator Mac Gargan was subjected to inhumane experimentation willingly in order to find out who Spider-Man really was. This left him a shell of a man, but a powerful killing machine bonded to a scorpion suit with a powerful tail containing a lethal venom, and capable of expelling acid. Clayface: A failed actor who turned to a life of crime, Basil Karlo ultimately made a proverbial deal with the devil that transformed him into the monstrous Clayface. He is capable of taking on the appearance of almost anyone, and has developed tremendous acting skills over the years.

Harry Osborn: The heir of the now-deceased millionaire Norman Osborn, Harry has chosen not to take up his father's legacy with Oscorp and instead chosen to focus on politics. He is currently running for Mayor of New York City, with a remarkable following. Mary Jane Watson: A Broadway actress of some renown, Mary Jane Watson is a celebrity to some extent. Despite her popular status, she spends her free time partaking in volunteer work in underfunded communities in New York City. She has gotten a few minor television roles, but hasn't quite made her big break. Aunt May: There is no sweeter soul in all of Queens. She is a beloved neighbor in her local neighborhood and community, and is a loving mother-figure to Peter.

Late 2009: Peter Parker, age 16, is bitten by a mutated spider while on a field trip to Oscorp. The spider dies, and the project is considered unsuccessful. Peter Parker develops his powers, Uncle Ben dies... you know the origin story. 2010: New York City is attacked by an alien invasion. While heroes like Superman are busy kicking the aliens off planet, Peter spends this time as Spider-Man protecting civilians. Peter Parker declines an offer to join the newly forming Justice League while trying to disguise the fact that he is, technically, a child. 2011: Peter Parker begins to fight some of his first rogues. Among them are the Rhino, Electro, and Vulture. 2012: Spider-Man, now an adult and going to college in state, accepts a spot on the founding Avengers team. 2013: Norman Osborn's secret project to develop a super soldier serum hits a snag as Oscorp suffers financial difficulties. With his scientists refusing to move on to human testing, Norman undergoes the process himself. He develops a dangerous alter ego, and the supervillain known as the Green Goblin is born. He spends an entire year terrorizing Spider-Man while evading being captured. 2014: Norman Osborn discovers Peter Parker is Spider-Man. He uses Peter's girlfriend Gwen Stacy as bait, and is responsible for her demise. Spider-Man fights the Green Goblin ruthlessly, and refuses to save Norman after a glider malfunction leaves him helpless in a building he started a fire in. Peter regrets this decision when attending Norman's funeral at Harry's side. Norman's identity as the Green Goblin is confirmed, and Oscorp undergoes a significant restructuring. 2017: Peter has years of experience under his belt, and a five year degree in mechanical engineering. He accepts a job at Stark Technologies, and is fired within a few months due to issues concerning tardiness and too many sick days. Fall 2020: Spider-Man discovers that he isn't the only Spider-Man, and begins training a young Miles Morales.
