But it took Batman: The Animated Series to elevate him to be one of the Dark Knight's most prominent supervillains in his Rogues Gallery. Because of his tragic backstory and personality, Mr. Freeze stood out amongst the cast as he was primarily motivated out of love whereas everyone else held vendettas or vices against Batman. While antagonist like Joker and Riddler enjoys battling the Caped Crusader, Mr. Freeze seems to be one of the few people that detest it. To the villain, every minute fighting Batman is a minute noting finding a cure for his wife so he treats the hero like an annoying pest at best to someone actively sabotaging any chances of saving his wife, Nora, at worst. Renowned for his professionalism in villainy, his contemporaries would regard him as humorless or silently mad given his all-consuming drive to cure Nora. In most of his media portrayals, Mr. Freeze operates alone, with little to no henchmen, as he, quite frankly, lost his trust in other people since that lab accident. He believes that he alone has the skill and the integrity to cure his wife. This kind of hidden paranoia mixed with pride and wrath ensures that Batman couldn't save Nora, even if he wanted to, since Mr. Freeze has regarded him as too much of an enemy and threat to be near his wife. Whether he could be convinced otherwise remain to be seen. I also enjoy playing villains because as Megamind has put it, it's all about the presentation. With his glowing red eyes from his goggles and his massive freeze gun, Mr. Freeze definitely has that gothic tech feel to him. Storywise, I enjoy his struggles since he is possibly the only person who can achieve redemption since he is motivated by his undying love for Nora; not greed nor lust. Usually, I explore heroism through the eyes of the villains with stories of them trying to be heroes in spite of their own destructive tendencies and egregious sins but in Mr. Freeze's case, he is a hero (a husband saving his wife) playing as the villain. He clearly hates his lifestyle but feels trapped and locked in contempt for himself and others. It would be a good way to explore the theme "What defines a villain more? What they do or what they represent?" Beyond that, I'm thinking of also making Mr. Freeze a bit more sociable, sociable enough to host dinner parties and make some snark. I suspect even he knows that Nora wouldn't want to wake up and see her husband become a total recluse. It could be a way for him to regain some of his humanity back through observation. Additionally, given his fanatical devotion to his wife, Nora, I would have Mr. Freeze go berserk whenever someone insults his love. He already has a patience of a saint given his slow aging process but any dishonor to his wife would ignite his fury in an instant. The overall goal is for him to find that cure. What happens after he finds it will be interesting since he would immediately give up immediately only to run into a few roadblocks. Primarily his current identity as Mr. Freeze as he pretty much burned down his bridges with Gotham. He would discover that he can't go back to being a civilian that easily.

[SUP][SUB]
C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

Currently, given that I'm the only person apping as a villain, he would most likely be a driving character for some plots. Personally, I would have him be a roaming or supporting status character since I'm not that confident in my writing ability. Other than that, he speaks with a slightly German accent and his animal motif is the polar bear

[SUP][SUB]
P O S T C A T A L O G:
[/SUB][/SUP]

Worry not Nora, this is only temporary.
