UPDATED: 1/1/24. New year, new 1x1 attempts! Will add more ideas/pairings as soon as they come to me.
Hey writer-friends. Just looking for a couple of roleplays to fill my time. It's not my first rodeo (I'm a post-by-post veteran in her early thirties), and I've been doing this for about seventeen or so years now. I haven't written a lot in the past few years - which makes me a tad rusty - but please bear with me as I attempt to get my aged behind back on the proverbial horse.
OBLIGATORY RULES
1) Female IRL, but fine playing male or female. 2) I'm sure you noticed the "18+" thing up there in the title, which is pretty self-explanatory. Ideally I'd like my partners to be 21+. I'm absolutely not comfortable roleplaying with minors, especially due to the heavy themes I like to include in my roleplays; I don't fade to black, and this includes scenes of violence, sexuality, abuse, alcoholism, use of profanity, and the like. 3) That being said, I like (love) romance and pretty much require it in all my stories as an element (though not the main focus), BUT I (usually) don't write smut for the sake of smut. If there's going to be be any "action" of that sort, it's usually going to be plot-relevant and lead to character/character relationship development. 4) I'd like to write with writers of a "high casual-advanced" (as the terms go) level; as such, please send me a writing sample so I can be sure our styles match. It doesn't have to be a long one; a paragraph or two will suffice! This is to minimize the chances of a story drop. I greatly enjoy fluid, descriptive scenes which allow me to see the story in my head. My own writing sample will be included below. 5) "Advanced" label aside, I don't really care how long your posts are. I've had great roleplays where it was two to three paragraphs of quick back-and-forth. It depends on the situation our characters are in. Dialogue? Two paragraphs. Action sequence or initial introduction? Maybe five and some change. To me, it's the quality of content that matters and not the length. 6) I don't do faceclaims, mostly because I'm super picky with them and it takes me forever to find one that fits, which stresses me out. If you have one, cool; just please don't expect me to. Also, anime for faceclaims are a no for me. 7) Due to aforementioned adult content, I only roleplay through PMs. I like keeping IC and OOC separate, and plot in OOC as the IC progresses. I love sudden plot twists and drama. Break my heart. I’m ready.
(Please keep in mind that this is a pretty damn old sample; it's also quite short, but should give you an idea of my style.) Kyros despised taverns; they were noisy, suffocating and filled with loud-mouthed drunkards who spoke less from their mouths than from their asses. But he was here under orders, and orders were something he never questioned. Because I respect you, father, I’ll do this… Thought the man in muted annoyance, folding his arms as a swath of heavy crimson cloak spilled over a broad shoulder. He still recalled the briefing he had received before his departure - there is a woman here, a Theritem; watch her and report on all her doings. Those were his instructions, and he intended to follow them to the letter. Yet he considered himself no spy - what use was there for silent observation when a suspect could simply be trussed and tortured until he spoke? An indignant scowl made known on his lips for a brief instant before it dissipated. Diplomacy, diplomacy, diplomacy. Diplomacy be damned. Pulling absently at the lion’s tooth strung from a cord on his neck, he trailed his gaze across groups of raucously-howling men, feeling his patience thin with each passing second. And then, as if to reinforce the hostility already boiling in the pit of his gut, someone pushed past him with enough force to draw an angry gleam to the Straegian’s eye. Whirling on the stranger, Kyros addressed him harshly. “You - have some respect.” The perpetrator of the shove eyed the soldier with barely-concealed mirth, a breezy smile emergent on his mouth. “Ah, you must be from Straegia. I didn’t think brutes knew the meaning of respect.” “And by Ino’s will, you’re about to learn some,” growled Kyros as he forgot, momentarily, about his instructions to keep himself covert. People were already beginning to look their way, mindful of the brawl which seemingly was about to begin. Excited murmurs rippled through the tavern’s gathered patrons, to which the warrior was heedless. Some people needed to learn their place, even if they needed it beaten into them.

ORIGINAL IDEAS
TEAR YOU APART Modern, Crime He's the local serial killer: Originator of the bags of butchered parts dumped randomly throughout the city. She's a woman whose past is rife with abuse, though the trauma has yet to douse a roaring inner fire. The gentle figure with compassionate eyes she meets at a bar one night stirs in her a beautiful hope. He thinks her the remedy for the rot in his soul. They're both tragically wrong. O DEATH Modern, Supernatural Returning from a tour overseas where he has a strange encounter with a reaper-like figure, a former soldier realizes he is suddenly besieged by terrible visions of death. Visions that invariably come true; and if he intervenes, someone else pays the price. While most believe his claims the disturbed echoes of a war-shattered mind, he finds solace in a childhood acquaintance who helps find a way to remove this "curse", before it consumes him completely. DARKNESS Sci-Fi, Horror, Action A SpecOps team is deployed to a forsaken Earth-like planet in an attempt to evaluate it for possible colonization. The mission goes horrifically awry when they are picked off one by one by an ancient, grotesque race of alien creatures - leaving only two bloodied survivors. Forced to rely on each other, they must find a way off this hostile deathtrap to bring news of a possible invasion to their superiors. I will be pulling material from V5 sourcebooks and VTM wikis, and while I know there are many who (understandably) prefer the older versions, V5 is what I'm presently most familiar with. I will play anything from Ventrue to Brujah, though I tend to gravitate towards playing more dominant/strong-willed Kindred.
Please PM if interested! I'm also open to your suggestions, keeping in mind that I like dark themes (including tragedy, hurt/comfort, and grit).
