Castiel and Dean Winchester
Dean gestured toward Esme as she asked the question he was just about to ask to Castiel, which caused him to throw his hands up in exasperation, “No…well, YES! You were the least likely to end up dead, considering she’s still a little angry about almost being killed fresh out of the womb, by your ignorance, Dean.” Dean flinched at his words, but felt Esme’s hand tighten on his and turned to look at their hands, glancing up to her face as he rubbed his thumb along hers, gently, “I’m going to apologize for that, alright? I’m not sure she is going to be much else but a problem for us, and a distraction…but she’s dangerous. I would feel better about keeping a dangerous weapon in a place where we can see it.” “She’s mostly human, Dean…”, Castiel muttered through his clenched teeth. Dean shook his head. “No. Nope. You’re not going to convince me that this girl, who almost KILLED me and my brother is human. You’re not doing that, this time, Cas. I’ll do my best to be nice to her, until the time comes when we have to make some decisions…and if you don’t have the balls to take care of it…I will.”, Dean glared at Cas with a face that said he was dead serious and Castiel huffed, turning and walking into the kitchen, his trench coat floating at his fast pace, “Cas. Cas don’t walk away from me!” But Castiel kept his pace, stepping around the corner, causing Dean to sigh. “I’m sorry about that. He has some sort of attachment to her, because of her mother…and now he thinks I’m Satan for wanting to make sure she doesn’t hurt anyone…”, he explained to Esme, looking down at the floor.
Madison
Madison sighed happily at the comforting gesture of Sam rubbing her back as she hugged him. So far, humans, outside of Sam and Esme hadn’t been the kindest to her, and she didn’t even know if this gesture was normal. But it was nice, and she felt safe, something new. As the voices rang out from outside the room, Madison recognized Dean’s voice, and then Esme’s. She pulled away from Sam’s hug, and nodded, glancing toward the door nervously, “I want to, but I’m a little scared of Dean. He doesn’t seem happy, and I don’t want to make him mad at me. Castiel told me he can’t kill me…but I like not hurting.” She said the words innocently, not knowing how much worse she could be injured, with her apparent healing powers. She was worried Dean had some way to permanently injure her, or cause her so much pain…worse than an angel blade.
