He is boisterous, brash, and confident. ⋆ Being a pirate, Tesoro definitely has a streak of selfishness. However, when dealings with matters that involves his crew, he is selfless. He epitomizes the idea of "The captain goes down with the ship". ⋆ While Tesoro can be seen as generally kind, he can be ruthless when needed to be. Being a pirate and a regular in the fighting pits, Tesoro will never back down. ⋆ In the matter of life and death, Tesoro will look to take care of himself first, if his crew is not involved. He is even willing to swallow his pride and kneel, if need be. ⋆ Can one be ill-tempered, but calm at the same time? Tesoro has a mean streak, and is easily angered. However, during high-pressure situations, he remains calm ⋆ Oh he is impatient. He wants the world, by yesterday. ⋆ There isn't a cowardly bone in him. He is the walking embodiment of bravado ⋆ Little of this is known to his crew or even those close to him. He can get depressed at times. He, despite all the rah-rah he shows others, doesn't feel like he is good enough and when the night rolls in and his quarters are quiet and still, his demons come and haunt his thoughts. ⋆ Snap decisions. Whether they're the most appropriate is to be debated. But a decision will be made nonetheless. ⋆ Intelligence level: Fairly intelligent ⋆ Charisma, max. Period. (His writer might let him down, however.) ⋆ He is a pirate, what do you think about whether he has a sense of humor? ⋆ He is energetic, but no so much that he is bouncing off the walls. His father served in the local military, holding a high rank. His mother was a homemaker, the sort that hosted tea parties in their gardens. Tesoro was always jovial, with boundless energy. Often, his voice presented himself to his mother's guests before he is actually seen. His father, ever the militaryman, tried to instill a sense of routine and regiment into the young elf's life. He always tried to teach the young elf the importance of seniority and respecting elders. Some of the teachings stuck. Others, however, Tesoro currently goes out of his way to break. Tesoro, however, didn't quite like his upbringing. Yes, he enjoy the material things he was afforded. But, when he hit 290th birthday, he started actively being rebellious. He had no need, but he was goaded into stealing a piece of jewelry from an upscale boutique in Roshmi City. Then, before he was apprehended, him and his ragtag gang of friends was seen dangling their haul in The Love Lounge. Of course, this sort of brazen behavior attracted attention and before long he was caught. His 'friends'? They all bailed on him. His father bailed him out. But not before berating him in front of the officers that took him in. A prophetic slap was also delivered before a word was said to Tesoro from his father. His mother was nowhere to be found. No doubt entertaining guests at home again, Tesoro thought. Ever defiant, Tesoro dared to talk back to his father, in the presence of the officers. The officers exchanged incredulous looks, because even they know the reputation his father has in the military. His father disowned him. On the spot. He handed over the bail money and told Tesoro that he is no longer a son of his, and that he will not be welcomed home. All Tesoro has left now is the clothes on his back, and his wits. Tesoro has long heard the gentlemen's paradise that is Port Vanaroas. He made up his mind that if his birth family didn't want him anymore, he will just make a new family. He charmed and bartered his way onto a ship bound for Port Vanarosa... By the time the ship made port, Tesoro was elected captain. Through will, wit, or brawl, Tesoro is now a somebody. The ship was not originally meant to be a pirate ship. Matter of fact it was a merchant ship, hauling barrels of tobacco, sugar, rum, and cotton. Tesoro had just taken his first prize, coincidentally. Trading in the cargo of the ship, Tesoro made sure the ship was rigged to be a proper pirate ship, and the leftover funds was divided equally to those who remained on his crew. He was even able to establish a slosh fund for the ship as a whole. It did not make him or his crew rich by any means. But it did mean that he now has a family to call his own. "El Dorado. Thats the name of the ship. The fabled city of gold. Thats what this ship is. Its full of gold, and you can never reach it unless you're already there." Tesoro said, with a smirk, to the roars of his crew. His 350th birthday was another eventful one. By this point, the El Dorado had made a name for itself as a fierce ship with a strong crew. Tesoro makes sure the ship is kept in pristine shape, upgrading and repairing as needed. He also makes sure his crew are generally happy and well taken care of. He understands the fact that he cannot run the ship by himself. He might call the shots, but its his men that fires them. They were tracking their biggest prize to date. The Storm's Revenge. A fellow pirate ship that has recently taking down a entire merchant fleet of 3 ships by itself. The ship was battered, but still seaworthy and absolutely filled to the brim with loot. Tesoro and his men were licking their chops to ambush the ship and claim the loot for themselves. Tesoro had hoped to leverage his name and his currently superior ship to take over The Storm's Revenge without much effort. However, the crew of The Storm were all battle-hardened veterans. Their captain a hard man. They refused to talk, and even in a battered state, decided to fight and perhaps take over Tesoro and his crew for their own. A battle ensued. Tesoro and his men fought valiantly as per usual. But, as the sea would have it, The Storm's Revenge somehow got the better of them and half way through the battle, the majority of El Dorado's crew defected mid-battle, leaving Tesoro alone with the weak or injured. Seething with rage, Tesoro fought with as much gusto as he could have... The last thing he remembers hearing was the roaring laughter of men, and the waves... When he woke, he found himself clinging to a piece of what used to be El Dorado's mast and beached. Examining himself, he found no debilitating injuries. Hauling himself to his feet, he trudged towards Yolichi's Restaurant. He was too weak to fight, but not ready to die. As he stumbled through the doors of the restaurant, the patrons paid him no mind. Yolichi saw him and shook his head. He placed a bowl of Dolphigator stew in front of him. "Its on the house" he said to Tesoro. Tesoro ate in silence. The actions of his former crew broke him, for the first time in his life. Falling asleep at the table, he was poked awake by Yolichi the next morning. Feeling a bit more rejuvenated, Tesoro took in a deep draft of the morning air. He was down, but definitely not out. Yolichi told him about the fighting pits in the black market. He knows Tesoro to be a fighter, and thats the last place for him. He is a pirate without a crew, a captain without a ship. A man with no amas to his name. He can try to make a living in the fighting pits, betting his life on himself. Or he can just fall over and die... Tesoro is not ready to die... After all, he is Captain Tesoro, the golden boy of the sea. So he fought. And fought. And fought. With fights, comes winnings. Of course there were close calls and injuries. Nothing a night spent at Sailor's Pleasure or raucously joking around with Tanelia at the Seagull can't cure. Word of mouth travels faster than the easterlies. Tesoro's notoriety earned him lots of amas, but he spends it as fast as he can earn it anyways. Another thing that was brought by his notoriety was a bounty on his head. Apparently, he nearly killed a prized fighter of some big training stable and the owner just would not have it. Not only was his employee taking on a side hustle by fighting in the fighting pits, he let a no-name sea scum nearly kill him. All while the owner of the fighter got nothing in return. He would not have it. The light elf bounty hunter known as Roper was contracted to apprehend Tesoro. The originator of the contract was very clear with Roper that he does not want Tesoro killed. Harmed, sure. But not killed. The man wants to at least see what Tesoro can offer him in terms of being a fighter before he decided what to do with him. One night, while Tesoro was up to his usual no-good, he felt a cold, steely tap on his left shoulder. Tesoro tilted his head slightly and saw a armor-clad hand on his shoulder. Being drunk and borderline on passing out, Tesoro wildly swung his right fist at the man who dared put his hands on him. A small scuffle ensued. In the end, Tesoro was bound, and gagged, before being tossed into the back of the ship. From upper class light elf, to hooligan, to pirate captain, to street rat, to prize fighter, to bilge rat. Not a good start to a light elf's life. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Combat and Magic: ALL SPECIES ANSWER: Strength:8 Speed on Land: 7 Speed in Air:0 Magical Ability:3 Dexterity:8 Weapon Proficiency:7 Stealth:5 Best Abilities:
Tesoro knows basic photokinesis like his light elf brethren. He prefers to fight with his fists, or with typical pirate weaponry, that is pistols and swords, and he is quite proficient with them.
