Mika chuckled at his comment about the diner smelling like it did good burgers. To her it was such a typical Dean thing to say which made her heart soar and a smile to be on her face broadly. She even welcomed having his hand on her lower back again as they headed to the back corner booth he manage to spot before she did and headed to it. At his question and assumption she smiled as she too sat down opposite him. "I think we deserve a short break" she commented back to him, "and you're right, it does. Reminds me of our many diner visits as teenagers" she said back to him agreement. Of course, for her nothing beat her first diner date with him, even if the night ended up upsetting because her dad couldn't control his anger. The time they spent at the diner, with her just ordering cheesy fries and a milkshake to share with him was still, even after all this time, one of her most fondest memories. She saw him peering round to assess the diner and knew he was making sure there was no immediate danger, which she didn't blame him for doing. If she was on her own she would have done the same thing. Just as she was going to say something, a waitress walked over with the menus, placing one in front of both of them with a smile, "welcome, here's the menus, and the specials are on the board above the bar. Can I get you both a drink to start with?" she greeted them both. "I'll have a lemonade thanks" Mika replied, craving a cold drink instead of more coffee. She knew she'd probably be drinking her weight in caffeine if the case they were on dragged on at all. So for now, she was going to let herself have a soda and screw being healthy for a change.
