Congratulations on drawing the winning card are in order, I guess!” Hrolf Kraki Class: Saber Alignment: Chaotic Good Attribute: Earth STR: A | CON: B | AGI: B | MGI: B | LCK: E PERSONA A figure from 6th century Denmark. Theirs is a tale incorporating the sordid stories surrounding their clan, the recruitment of the twelve champions that would become lifelong friends, meeting gods, fighting kings, ruling the land and the ultimate battle against the wicked half-sister and her armies which resulted in their death. Without a doubt, a heroic tale fraught with adventure, happiness and tragedy. And the one that left behind such a brilliant legend... Frank without being insulting, prideful without being demeaning, powerful without being cruel, firm without being merciless, and authoritative without being tyrannical. Intrinsically, someone who is a friend to the wretched and an enemy to the wicked. Someone who comforts the weak and laughs at the strong. That is the hero named “Hrolf Kraki”. Though her form is that of a young woman in the prime of her life and she has no issues showing a face full of joy and love for the world as it is, there can be no doubt that this girl possesses the character of a “king”. As far as this War is concerned though, without there being something that requires her to act in her full capacity as a hero or as a monarch, then she is simply happy to cross swords with mighty warriors from all over the world to her heart’s content. Rather than a thirst for blood however, it is more like the entire situation has made her competitive streak flare up. She doesn’t believe in the relationship of “Master and Servant”, but nonetheless approaches the matter openly, and without hesitation suggests a partnership where she will trust them implicitly and expects the same from them as comrades. Because they’re the ones that have given her the chance to indulge herself in the modern era, she sees bringing the spoils (the Grail) back to them as a fair trade. But in the circumstances where the ultimate victory was achieved… In the circumstances where she could truly gain something like a “wish”... Saber is not typically someone to regret. What was, was, and what will be, will be. All you can do, all anyone can do, is accept such uncertainty, accept that you will make mistakes, and face it head on — that is our duty as humans. But even so, if there is one thing she would want… “The people that depended on me and the warriors that swore themselves to me, I answered those expectations and I’m not sorry about it. That’s why they praised me as a good king. But even so, I never sat down with you...and I also never tried to understand you. “I was a pretty terrible sister myself, wasn’t I? Hey, Skuld, for what’s worth...I’d like to have a talk. A very long, very important, very overdue talk.” CLASS SKILLS Magic Resistance: A Ability to combat magery — the hallmark of the Saber class. Boasting the highest rank, even magecraft on the level of High Thaumaturgy won’t leave a scratch on her armor. A bonafide “magus killer”. Saber lived a life marked by the supernatural, and her two main foes were the sorcerer-king of Sweden and her own half-elven enchantress of a sibling, the witch Skuld. Though she fell to the second and her army of constantly-reanimating revenants, it still took a full day of fighting to bring Saber down. According to the person herself, “after that sort of thing, everything else just kind of tickles.” Riding: B Represents skill with mounts. Though it cannot cope with the likes of Phantasmal Species, everything from animals to even contraptions found in other eras can be operated with relative ease. She laments that one of the concessions made to fit into the Saber class was the loss of her beloved hound, Gram, which would’ve manifested with her if she had been called forth in the...Rider container? “He was just the cutest lil’ thing, Master, I wish you could’ve seen him…” PERSONAL SKILLS Instinct: A Ability to identify “the best personal course of action for oneself” in combat, even allowing one to negate penalties from visual or auditory interference. Boasting the skill at the highest rank, this sixth sense has already essentially breached the realm of true precognition — the optimal flow is identified, analyzed and incorporated instantly. A natural talent honed over many battles. Travelling on Warrior’s Way: A A form of self-admonition. Fundamentally, it is a Skill that displays its effects by having the user stick to the attitude that one believes the “ideal hero” should display. It is similar to the ability of a certain Holy Emperor. Rather than being something that upgrades the “base specs”, it is better categorized as an ability that strengthens Saber’s own standing as a “hero”, akin to slowly improving upon the Saint Graph itself. So long as she maintains that attitude, then the spiritual foundation and even mentality can reach new heights. Likewise, breaking from such will cause the opposite. A star that shone brightest even among other stars, lovely and irreplaceable. A skill that, more than anything, encapsulates Saber’s “way of life”. Roar of the Berserkers: — Not a Skill inherent to Saber, but rather a byproduct of the twelve spirits inhabiting her sword — the champions that accompanied her throughout her adventures and into the fated final battle, to their doom and beyond, and still answer her call even now. Separate from her Noble Phantasms, the effect is naturally activated when entering combat — a “heavy pressure” coming from the raging souls of the twelve warriors floods the opponent, lowering their performance accordingly. Even if they cannot stand by her in body, so long as even an inkling of will is left, they will remain by her side. NOBLE PHANTASM Skofnung Glimmering Fang Rank: A Type: Anti-Unit Range: 1 - 2 Maximum Number of Targets: 1 The overly-large sword Saber lugs around. Despite looking impractical, she swings it with the incredible ease and skill befitting a warrior-king. It was said to be “the best and greatest of all swords in the Northern lands” within Saber’s lifetime — a peerless magic sword that accompanied her throughout many adventures and slew many foes, always managing to leave the worst wounds no matter the circumstances. The blade’s effect is twofold: first, any wound created by it will never heal so long as it persists in this world. Second, “every successfully connected blow with this sword is immediately revised and maximized in Saber’s favor”. In simpler terms, every single strike from the sword, no matter how shallow, is an automatic “critical hit”. ...Perhaps Saber indeed has reason to boast that her blade will not lose out even when compared to the one wielded by that dragon slayer of legend Skofnung: Svafnir Glimmering Fang: Flash Rank: A+ Type: Anti-Unit Range: 0 - 2 Maximum Number of Targets: 13 Saber’s second and strongest Noble Phantasm. It was said that the souls of the twelve berserkers that swore their allegiance to her — each of them worthy of attaining status as a Heroic Spirit — found their way into the blade and dwell within it even now. While that is already the source of one of her skills, this ability calls upon more than just their “presence”, fully releasing their power and channeling it through Saber’s own Saint Graph in order to perform it. Saber’s body is momentarily filled with power from the souls of her longtime friends, breaking her own limits and entrusting herself to the flow as they dictate in order to perform an ultra-high-speed sequence of thirteen attacks with Skofnung. While the speed is overwhelming and the power behind each blow is great, which would already make it a deadly combination with the basic abilities of the sword, perhaps the most understated element is that “every single attack in the sequence has a completely different rhythm from the others”. It lacks the widespread destructive power that can be showcased by the blade touted as the “Strongest Demonic Sword”, especially when backed by the factor of the dragon in that man’s heart. But even so, in terms of “Anti-Unit Magic Sword”, there is no room for doubt that Saber’s stands unmatched in Northern Europe.
